Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey guys...recently got a Canon 40D and am getting into photography.. I have a 70-200 F4 L USM lenses by Canon and am wary of getting scrathes on it. I noticed one of the mates has a 7dayshop uv filter on all his lenses to protect the main lenses. Are these ok to use? I see the Canon ones are about €35 wherease the…

Hey guys...recently got a Canon 40D and am getting into photography..
I have a 70-200 F4 L USM lenses by Canon and am wary of getting scrathes on it.
I noticed one of the mates has a 7dayshop uv filter on all his lenses to protect the main lenses.
Are these ok to use?
I see the Canon ones are about €35 wherease the 7dayshop one is about €10.
Are they just as good and how much of an impact do they affect the pic?

Having learned about how filters can degrade image quality, probably most of all sharpness, I tend to use them less these days.

However a polarizing filter is fun to use, especially for Winter skies. I uploaded some photos to this thread.

The more expensive filters seem to give the best results, but I have not tried them. Hama gives good results.
