It's not an instrument you can teach yourself. Find a teacher.

I am sure you could attempt it and make progress if you're dedicated. Try http://www.saxontheweb.net/Learning/index.html#BeginnerCorner. I was told i couldn't grow my hair without lessons but enough time, patience and dedication what do you know i managed it.

It is completely possible as I have done it myself. A teacher would of course help, amusing you have a good understanding of music theory then all you need is to ask questions on forums (like I did here for the flute (another instrument I am teaching myself, but sadly this forum is void of any people capable of helping you learn that instrument) http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055591922) and to get a fingering chart on-line or in a shop. The process is definitely slower and if your not careful you can learn bad habits e.g. incorrect embouchure, use of diaphragm etc. if you are unsure then find a good site and ask there.
