International opinion of Ireland?

Whats the international opinion of Ireland and the way we are handling the recession? Are we the laughing stock? Or do they think we are handling it ok? Other countries like Britain seem to have a different approach in that they are cutting VAT while we are putting it up

Well was in the Philippines recently and people over their never heard of Ireland, which is what most people in any part of Asia say and most people in south america....which is pretty amazing cause Irish people think their the center of the universe....any nation that does know us thinks were now BROKE lager louts!!

I have to second that, there is no international opinion of Ireland in most countries...never heard of us in general and most think we are part of UK.
