Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know if motor dealersin Northern Ireland will accept southern cars as a trade in? We want to buy something family friendly and trade in the wife's 03 Hyundai Coupe. Has anyone traded in up North? How did it go? Has anyone any advice for me? Thanks

I would say take the average price of the car in the south and subtract 40%, if you get that in the north for it you will be doing very well.

Have you actually checked prices of similar cars you'd like in the republic, or are you following all the other sheep?

From what I've gathered, there is very little value to be had up North anymore.

why would a dealer want an irish car?
unless he was getting it for nearly nothing then he wont go to the bother of re-registering it and then trying to sell it up north.

whay cant you trade in down here?

Do northern garages have the same numbers of used cars sitting on the forecourts as they do here? Are they keen to do business?

in my opinion, it makes no difference man, why would a dealer want an irish car that he then has to fo and register and then try sell on to a northern buyer?

they would be keen to do cash business, but with an irish car you will get approx 50% of the real irish value, not the prices you see on carzone.

all in my opinion of course.

by they way, why havent you tryed an irish dealer?

    OP

Its Over Its Over Its Over.............Its Over.........

Many people are now complaining that Northern Irish and English prices are to high but it is infact that Southern prices have never been cheaper........Just remember though , you're gonna have to get real on the worth of your part-exchange too cause it will have devalued likewise.
