Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey Lads,

the clutch is going in my glanza and i priced for it to get it fixed

and was told it would be around 350 to 400, would i be better to

buy the clutch and get some one to fit it or just pay the 350 for

them to get the part and fit it??

who did you get the quote off?

imo the price is not too bad, but ir depends on what clutch is going into it?
is the mechanic just pricing for a standard starlet, not a glanza clutch?

also, have you and mods done?
if so, now is the time to upgrade to a better spec performance clutch like exceedy (sp) or similar make.

a.... i think it was for a standard starlet.... is their a diff in the starlet and
    glanza clutch??

    no mods done to it,
would i be better off to put a performance clutch in it instead of a standard one??

If you havent got any mods done and dont intend to put any more mods in then upgrading the clutch is debatable. It comes down to the difference in prices between the standard clutch and and upgraded one like exedy. Price up your options.

If their isn't much difference I'd go for it. At least the upgraded will last you longer. Try to get one thats not crazy on the pedal.

Overall though 350 isn't bad for supply and fit

standard starlet as in the 1.3 60 or 70 bhp version?

or a standard glanza 135bhp version?

i wouldnt go putting in a standard starlet clutch imo!

Check online for CAP or Exceedy cluthes. Both do quality kits and arent too dear either!

Try Walkinstown Clutch and Gearbox Center. I priced a flywheel and clutch for a VW Caddy and the main dealer was €1500, another gearbox center was €950 and he did it for €650 and it was dropped in at 11am and ready by 5pm. That included supply and fit of a flywheel (dual mass). http://www.walkinstownclutch.com/
