I would like to reduce game lag when playing online games but do not want to destroy my computer by deleting necessary files. I have windows vista home premium. Thanks

What game are you running? On what settings? What are your PC specifications?

It may be you are running the game too high - know the difference between chop and lag.

You can test your connection speed at http://speedtest.net

google the moo0 System monitor. It can tell you how many active connections you have - each process that communicates with the network opens a connection. Ideally, you should have as few as possible. If you notice several connections that you cannot account for, something may be running in the background. Hard Disk use can also cause chop.

    Wired or wireless connection?

Also, if it's a steam game there are certain settings which can be modified to tweak performance.
