    The article is discussing simple carbs, not complex. Everyone knows simple carbs are bad for you. This is hardly ground-breaking.

    Also, the tests did not demonstrate what happens to the arteries when eating a protein-based or complex-carb breakfast. How can we compare without those being tested too?

    True, it said that high GI foods are bad for you, not that high carbohydrate foods are bad for you - that is an important and huge difference.

    Doesn't all carbohydrate breakdown into simple sugars in the body?

    I'd be interested to see what the Omega 6 content of the diets in the study were.

    Omega 6 and transfats plus sugar is the fast-track to heart disease.
