Swallows have hatched out

    Our swallows have hatched out, there are five, hope they all survive. I worry about magpies etc. I've seen the other threads about birds of prey, birds falling out of the nest... The nest is only five feet high in a shed where we keep dogs, ( the dogs have their own compartments and seem oblivious to the swallows.

    I got a pic of these five swallow chicks in west Cork yesterday. I think they are older than yours. Again, there are predators (one cat and two young kittens) sleeping almost directly underneath them. Animal world is vicious!
