Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good deal for Dublin tuxedo hire.

Hi all, can anyone suggest a good and reasonably priced spot in Dublin for tuxedo hire? I'm heading abroad soon with my husband to a black tie wedding that requires tuxedo rental. From previous experience "Black Tie" are fairly crap, but to be honest we're already spending so much just getting to this wedding that we don't want to also spend a fortune for renting a tuxedo. Has anyone any suggestions or know about any good deals that might be on offer anywhere?

There's a small place in temple bar that might be worth trying. Its near the central bank, a few doors down from the foggy dew

To be honest, Black Tie ain't the worst - The only time I've had a problem with them is with a kilt - But for your run of the mill tux, they're grand, not overly expensive, and fairly easy going with dropping the suit back to'em. Which is handy.

My boyfriend and I went to a black tie wedding and he bought a black suit in Pennys, white shirt and I bought a dicki bow in Black Tie for him. The whole thing came to about €70, what you'd pay to hire but you get to keep it in the end. I know it sounds like a bit of a cheapskate thing to do but I swear there was no difference to any of the suits the other lads had hired. Also after the meal everyone took the jacket off anyhow so what you're left with is a white shirt and black trousers, some also took the bow off. You should go in and have a look.

Check online to see if there are any suit rentals at your destination. I imagine that if you hire from Dublin you'll be renting the suit for a few days whereas renting locally to the wedding you would only have the suit for the one days hire.

Marks and Sparks do a budget tux for about €70 for the jacket and pants. Worth checking out for sure.

The Suit Shop place on Grafton Street is selling tuxes for E99, not much more than what you'd pay to hire one.
