    What's in the zipped file?
There are four files under one folder in the zipped file, they are:
    __Vodfaone_ie.bundle
    |__carrier.plist
    |__Default_CARRIER_Meteor-ie.png
    |__SFO_CARRIER_Meteor-ie.png
    |__Info.plist

carrier.plist contains the settings in Property List format, these include apn setting, carrier logo file path, voice mail number etc.,
    Info.plist contains some general settings,
the two .png files are carrier logos.

    How to install?
To install the setting files, just follow three simple steps:
Step 1. Download the zip file which is attached to this post and unzip.

Step 2. Transfer the folder to /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ on your iphone
You can use ftp client at your choice.

Setp 3. ssh to your iphone and run following command
    ln -s /System/Library/Carrier\ Bundles/Meteor_ie.bundle /System/Library/Carrier\ Bundles/27203
You can also use Terminal if you have it installed.

This is a screenshot with Meteor logo:
    meteor.jpg

    I need your help!!
Take it easy, I'm not asking for donation.
Current package only contains carrier logo but no network settings. I don't use Meteor myself, so can't test it. If anyone use Meteor knows a working internet setting, please let me know, I'll update it.

    Hope this will help.

the two .png files are carrier logos.

And if you're feeling adventurous you can could create your own logo with Paint.

    hi thanks for this!
do you develop debian packages for the iphone?
I would like to package this into a .deb file for easy installation.
I can package it up all except for the part of entering the command.
    I believe i need to use a post-installation script?
Apologies if you know nothing about debian packaging!!

weilai>> thanks for this, I was actually googling for "howto" disable annoying "Call forwarding active" popup, when I found a thread about CarrierBundle. I catually SFTP into the phone, I mean I use Ubuntu and can ssh no probs, however when just copying stuff or editing scripts, etc. This is easier. When I opened the right folder (/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Unknown.bundle/) I found not one but lots of "providers", BUT thanks to your "27203" I was able to name that number so finally realized what Meteor's MCC+MNC code is. And the hint about symbolic link to that folder gave me the last missing piece of puzzle.

    Does this work with 3.0?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 258 ✭✭acidburn51737

    Yes it does

Hey man, I see the logo when I first get service but it immediately reverts to the normal "Meteor" text.

    Any ideas?

did you copy the 2 file and renamed them as your default logo name?

Rename? You never said anything to rename

I copied the folder called "Meteor_ie.bundle" after I've unzipped it to System\Library\Carrier Bundles\

I then copied the files to System\Library\Carrier Bundles\27203

sorry my bad. you copied the whole folder to >carrier bundles? you just need to copy the two files with the carrier name on it. like, when i copied the vodafone carrier logo, i had to rename the two files to o2 first before copying it to >carrier bundles> o2.ie folder.

Mate, I'm confused. My org carrier was o2 uk when the phone was bought, I'm now on meteor. Where do I need to rename/copy the orginal image files to

    Default_CARRIER_Meteor-ie.png
    FSO_CARRIER_Meteor-ie.png

At the moment they are inside:

    /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Meteor_ie.bundle
    /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/27203

sorry if i confused you. im a little confused myself lol. you have the custom carrier logo right? now rename the 2 .png files to

    Default_CARRIER_Meteor-ie.png
    &
    FSO_CARRIER_Meteor-ie.png

then copy the 2 file to
    /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Meteor_ie.bundle

respring and that might do it

Hey again, thanks for your help.

I've recopied in my meteor png's to the folder "/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Meteor_ie.bundle"

What is happening now is when I get service, I see the custom png meteor logo, but only for about 1 second then it switches back to the plain old meteor text. Any ideas?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭slinky2000

As you can see by the screen shots, I do get the custom logo for a second then it switches back to the standard

    98449.PNG

    98448.PNG

Hi everyone, I have compiled this into a package and it is now available on cydia for download. just search for meteor mms and you should find it. Credit goes to the OP, obviously, for providing these files. I just made a couple of slight changes so when you install the package you will get full mms & wap settings and carrier logo.

    Using iFile, you's could try going into "/var/mobile/library/carrier bundle.bundle/" and make sure the permissions for both the logo files are set as follows;

    Group: Read
    World: Read

Ok well that's the main thing. I wasn't aware of any problems with the carrier logo but I will look into it.

Install the package "Meteor Carrier Bundle" from Cydia
    Restart Phone
Go to Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network> Tap "Reset Settings" a couple of times.

    That's it!
