Could we have it so only the mods of the forum can see it (it would then have a link to the reported post thread). It would be handy to be able to see if a post was reported and then check the reported post thread to see what the other mods thoughts are on it.

    What the man said.

Ya, I can't really see the positives on this one really. This is just to save duplicated reported posts, ya? If so, the downsides of on thread discussion (not just from the poster of it) is far greater than any upsides imo.

Also, this might lead to people saying 'Why has nothing been done about that reported post' as well as arguments about why it was reported, etc.

    Not worth the hassle imo.

    but also this.

If it stays as is then fine. If it's changed to what AC states, fine.

    All is fine.

What about if the notice is changed to say Kinetic^ is a big stupid poo poo head. Is that fine? :D

    Moved to Development.

Pro tip: if it involves adding a feature, it goes in development.

Admin tip: If it's going to affect people at large, don't just enforce it on them at will :)

Why, then some of our most popular features would never have happened :)

Would like to keep all feature suggestions in this forum ( discussion is allowed here too :) ), the "new menu" thread in feedback being a semi-exception. I'd move it here, but it's pre-emptively located to avoid the tedium of feedback mods inevitably having to chop and move posts to a thread here.

I saw a different way of reporting posts on another discussion forum using ASP software. You report the post and then it creates a "ticket" which is essentially a thread/conversation thing but only you and the moderator can see it and reply to it and the mod can lock it. So you report the post, the moderator replies and then locks it and that's that.

    Apologies for dragging up an old thread, but how about doing it this way;

Post can be reported by multiple users without any visual clue to other users,
Moderator takes action on the reported post,
Visual clue then becomes visible / Report button disabled

This way the post isn't reported after it has already been dealt with.

If this was to be implemented then there's no way it should be made viewable by your average user, just moderators. You wouldn't believe some of the reported posts we get so if a user saw some of their posts being reported they could get turned off posting on here again.

That's why it should only have any visible effect after a moderator has decided on and followed a course of action. It would remove the need for 'Banned!' posts too.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
