Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know what kinda of set/show the James Murphy and Pat Mahoney gig will be at the Picnic. Is it just a DJ set or what? Have seen LCD SS live a couple of times, and James Murphy on his own DJing before. The full band gig was fantastic. The DJ set was kinda iffy IMO so just trying to figure out a plan for the picnic.

    Cheers guys.

They play a disco set but good disco like spacey electro with a small bit of electroclash. Stuff like holy ghost, panthers, axis shift, todd terje. The tunes they play are mostly from james murphys label dfa.

They were fairly poor supporting 2 many DJs at Brixton Academy a few weeks ago (have only just found out that it was them), I would definitely only think about seeing them at the picnic if there's nobody else on at the time...

Guess I would describe it as house with a bit of a disco groove to it... Pretty funky stuff

    LCD Soundsystem.

    Highly recommended music Johnny.

Two excellent albums and there's a full remix album called "the introns" that is just savage.
Daft punk is playing at my house, North American Scum, Get innocuous (From the GTA Sound track).
Give them a spin man you might find yourself becomming a fan :)

Losing My Edge is one of the best songs of the last decade, IMHO:

I'd rather being seeing a full on instruments-and-all live set, but beggars can't be choosers, I suppose, so I'll settle for DJ set...

You'll be sorely disappointed if you're expecting to hear anything like LCD soundsystem though...

Murphy does have something of a reputation for taste to uphold though. :D

All My Friends beats that hands down. Amazing track. The piano hook is so intense and hypnotic.

Didn't know Franz Ferdinand did a cover. Not a patch on the original though.
I dare you to remain under the speed limit while driving on the motorway with original banging out of the stereo! Not that I condone speeding of course.

    Damn.

Still though, I reckon All My Friends takes a bit of patience until it clicks, IMHO. I think Losing My Edge makes a better single, but to be honest, more or less every LCD track is a contender.

Agree about the patience point. It's more instant on the album version but the live version was the first vid a googled and it's still great live.
