Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Joy to the world, had to shout about it (hope that's ok).

If you're interested, take a look at Hotpress this week (out Thursday or Friday, Blur will be on the cover). They are running an article about the pipe laying boat Solitaire and are gonna use a photo I took of it last year. Photo here - http://www.kieranstafford.com/blog/?p=299

Its a horrid crop I know, I am no artist when it comes to cameras, I point and shoot mostrly in auto mode. The crop was so bad cause the pilot boat was swaying in the swell and the deck was wet, so it was real hairy trying to take pictures (letting go of the nearest rail). That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it:>

Nice shot, its very well lined up considering you were hanging off the side of a boat to take it.

I my eyes a picture doesn't have to be perfect to be brilliant. I like that you have quite some of the splash as well. And that you don't see all of the ship gives you the impression of how big it actually is.
    So congrats!

Excellent shot and congratulation on getting it and getting it published.

Protester, employee or security? Isn't there a 0.5km exclusion zone around that vessel? You mentioned a pilot boat so I'd be guessing not a protester.

Don't are either way, just curious.

    Well done on your achievement.

Bear in mind this photo was taken last summer (2088) when the boat was first here. I was a guest on one of the ships service pilot boats, was also offered an opportunity to go on board but that didn't happen due to the time constraints of others.
I'm not a protester nor a supporter. I don't really have an opinion on the situation in Mayo. I just love the sea, love heavy engineering, love excitement and doing different things etc. I will tell ya one thing - its a big ol boat!
