If you see a newspaper advert, a bill board, radio or TV ad or get a leaflet through the door or see an Instore poster that is misleading, dishonest, or in some way contravenes the code here http://asai.ie/code.asp

Complain to the ASAI. They do get Adverts stopped.

Take a photo or scan. Note date and publication / Location.

You never know, if enough people complain about something it might even embarrass Mr. Ryan or ComReg.
    • Upto 24Mbps... (DSL)
    • DSL BB for only 9 Euro
    • Unlimited cap.
    • No Contention.
    • A FUP (Fair Usage Policy) that is practically secret.
    • Wireless ISDN marketed as Broadband
    • Mobile Internet marketed as Broadband with unrealistic upto speeds
    • No clear mention of charges over Cap in adverts.

Real Complaints here (not moans, but things that break the code):
    http://asai.ie/complain.asp

Bad marketing and overselling by a wide range of ISPs skews competition unfairly against more honest ISPs. It holds back development and up take of Broadband (i.e. a bad experience with ripwave, or someone gives up DSL for "cheaper" Mobile product sold as broadband and then locked into 12 month contract)

The 1st poll is on an NBS advert. It doesn't explicitly say 3 Ireland are providing NBS.
(who places it? 3, Dept or "NBS")

Here is a 2nd poll on an actual 3 Ireland advert: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055612244
This is an ordinary "Broadband advert"
    EXCEPT:
    • It's 3's service using 3G/HSPA on Mobile Phone Network
    • They claim 15GByte is a HUGE Cap (On NBS this is 12 Down and 3 up)
    • Can't find FUP on 3 website
    • No mention of performance
    • Copy & past of the Logos from the NBS advert.
    • A few pages after NBS advert in same paper.

Have a look and a vote. If you think it is misleading complain online to ASAI and tell them why.
