During the 80's the NME released a series of cassettes through mail order.
The music on the cassettes varied from contemporary music to reggae, R&B, Electronic , John Peel sessions etc.

The one thing they had in common was the quality of music on them.

I've got a collection of these which I'm currently digitizing and making available. I discovered there is already a number of websites dedicated to these tapes and I've posted links to these .

If you're old enough to remember this stuff or just curious (and a lot of it would be remixes etc. which were not commercially available) you can get all the info you need at the following links (look in the comments sections if you want to download them):

Was it the NME that released a 'Dust Brothers' Remix tape, I played that more than I'd care to admit.

    Dust Brothers = Chemical Brothers?
