Anyone know the best package available to Dublin subscribers for Digital TV, phone and broadband. Is the 49 per month from Chorus good value and how do their call charges compare at 3 cents for local call in daytime, 1 cent at night and weekends, and 23 cents for mobile calls at daytime, 15 at night and 11 at weekends. Would appreciate any advice

All three are only sensibly available and widely from UPC (ex Chorus / NTL).

Smart and Magnet do have TV, but it's limited compared to UPC, they are only economic if you want higher speed packages. Homevision is also DSL based Phone + TV and BB. But the TV is very poor. This is a limitation of DSL (copper phoneline) which only can use IPTV for TV and only reliably on a very good line close to the Exchange.

Imagine is ex IBB. Breeze or DSL from them is OK. Not Ripwave. Only the Imagine DSL gives a real phone service. Though you can in theory use VOIP Blueface and an ATA on Breeze, it's not as good as UPC's phone service.

Some other non-TV suppliers have bundled phone. Only Digiweb Metro (< 40 Euro inc phone) and some fibre locations as alternative to UPC's cable BB + phone exist. ALL other sensible phone alternatives involve line Rental, so minimum price before ANY calls is about 50 Euro for 1Mbps DSL Broadband + phone.

My Daughter has UPC (Chorus) Cable Broadband/Phone but Free Satellite channels only, no Cable TV. If you want pay TV, then all three from UPC makes good sense, though for some combinations of channels or for HD, Sky for payTV and UPC for Cable BB + Phone makes more sense.

    Moved to Broadband.
