Solar Technology for my Home YES/NO

Hi Guys n Gals,

My Sincere appologies if this is the wrong place to post this.

But I've recently bought a house and in our current climate my idea is to cut as many costs as possible before I even begin paying those criminals in Bord Gais my hard earned cash (sorry i'll just never forgive them for the 450 euro security deposit I had to pay on the 20th of December 2008).

I've gotten a quote for a Solar Panel to be installed and its conciderably cheap for what they "say" the technology can do for me.

I'm a huge fan of going off personal experience. Does anyone use this technology and is it worth installing in my home?

Do you have any details of what you have been quoted for and how much it is costing?

There are a lot of guys here who will tell you fairly fast if it is a good deal or not

If its 70% ish efficient - replace it for a 90% efficient boiler

You will get a quicker ROI doing this vs Solar
