Midweek is the best time to go. The weekends get messy with young lads falling around the place drunk. Well the second weekend anyway.

Yup. Trick is to get out of town by 7, all the scumbags descend on the place. If you get into a pub out of the way you can avoid it though. The hotels down near spanish point and some pubs in surrounding villages seem to be where all the trad heads went last year.

Willie Clancy Week always starts on the first Saturday in July for a week. It changes every year so don't follow a certain date, look for the first Saturday and you won't go wrong.

Officially it's on for 7 days but people start arriving on the Friday and stay untill Monday week.

The second weekend is the messiest, people linger on and never really sober up! If you're going for the classes you'll get to know the other pubs in surrounding area's which are very good and less crammed. If you're going for a drinking session, stay around the town, The Player's Club have a marqueue esp for that week with bands. Admission is dear though but a great laugh.

Hope this helps you all for next year.

Going by the calender, it's starts on Saturday 3rd July - 10th July 2010.
