The winter war in 1939 with Finland.

The recent one with Georgia (though it might be debatable which side started it initially)

    Handed the Russians they're asses.

The USSR and Finland were involved in that war.

Georgia did, and continue to lay down nasty rhetoric.

    Afganistan anybody?

Again, Soviet Union, at the request of the government.

So I guess there are questions as to why anti-war protesters aren't organising to protest against the foreign policy of a country that doesn't exist anymore :p

    LOL

    How about:
    Russian Conquest of Kazan, 1552
    Russian Conquest of Astrakhan, 1554-1556
    Russo-Polish Wars, 1563-1582

There is a fcuk off great list here:
    http://www.zum.de/whkmla/military/russia/milxrussianempire.html

Quietly confident the Russians started a few of them.

Tbh, without it being open to public boardings, I'm not all that interested in going down just to get a picture of it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,715 ✭✭✭marco murphy

Ah bollocks. Went down with some mates, a long walk. Went right up to the end of the docks and caught a glimpse of it. Got directions to it to be told "you can't come near it".

They must have got word of the protest I had planned.

Sailors all over the town too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

So they're allowed walk all over our city and we're not allowed onto their poxy little boat.

The Georgians started that one. Bloody rednecks.

The Soviets used to do that, but did the Russian navy keep that up? After all, the paint and all the paperwork costs money...

So can I come in to your gaff & poke around, seeing as you walk around Dublin like these sailors?

What makes you think you've the right to have a look around a ship that belongs to another country?

They have a better chance seeing the inside of the ship that we do, with all that were captured during the short conflict.
