    I'd have to see the show to know what's going on. I did one of these before on some channel and the answer was stupid.

    actually ya could cause he says dont double count... so if ya treat each one as a single digit and add them it makes 42 as each is in a triangle and ya cant count them twice...

    This is the biggest con seen since scientology. Honestly, they put up seemingly simple looking visual picture, charge people €1.50 to even ring up, (when people are gonna b p****d), and it turns out to be the most cryptic, misleading thing you've ever seen, and they show you for a fleeting second how they got it. Kerching!

    ring me up and say 10 and 42. I'll charge you 1.50 and you win!!!

    I counted only 9 triangles, the shape with 25 is not a triangle, if you are counting that.

    Do they think that 34+43 and 51+78 are Triangles maybe?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,716 ✭✭✭brightkane

    could it be

    1+2+3+4+5+7+8 ?

    30 ?

    using each number only once?

    They can make it whatever answer they want.They have no rules and are there to make money. So it is just some obscure answer

    See post #20 PK. Are you missing the large one by any chance ?;)

    EDIT: he keeps referring to primary books !

    25 could be in its own triangle - just lift off the other 4 small triangles and 25 is left within the large triangle.... if this is national school there are some smart kids out there

    25+34+43+51+78 = 231 all the individual triangle
    25+34+43+51+78 = 231 all the triangles together one big triangle
    ...............25+34 = 59
    ...............34+43 = 77*
    ...............43+51 = 94
    ...............51+78 = 129*
    ...............78+25 = 103
    = 914 or 718 discounting the ones in asterixs because they are not triangles.

    Looked a second time and realised I have missed the following triangles
    34+43+51=128
    43+51+78= 152
    ............= 280

    add this to 718 and now I get 998.

    Drat someone said that laready I think.

    Ten triangles with the following number sequences.

    34 25 78 51 43 = 231
    51 34 43 = 128
    43 51 78 = 172
    25 34 = 59
    43 51 = 94
    78 25 = 103
    43 51 = 94
    78 = 78
    34 = 34
    43 = 43

    Total 1036
