    Whern you're banned you lose access to PMs so the prison forum allow interaction between banned mambers and admins.

    It sometimes happens that for example another members account is 'hijacked' by a "friend" who then goes to town posting crap. We ban the account to stop the posting and wait for the 'real' person to post in Prison.

    Exactly the reason, plus if somebody does get themselfs banned from the site it allows them to think they still have some hope

    It gives sitebanned users the chance to appeal their ban, and bans actually are overturned by the admins if the users make a decent case.

    On the other hand, it gives everyone a good chance to laugh at idiots, cos let's face it there's a little bit of sadistic bastard in everyone on the internet :)

    i dunno, id call it being smug. i can sorta see the point in it. but it just seems to be a place where buffybot can laugh at ppl. it kinda reminds me of a zoo in some ways.

    And the ones who threaten legal action for defamation of charector.
    And the ones who meerly ask the mods to get out, without any sort of apology or finding out why they got banned.

    Ha! Come to think of it, the majority of them are very desperate.

    They should be made compete against each other in challenges set by the mods or forum rules abiding members, with the winner of each challenge being reinstated in the main forum.

    But what type of challenges?
