Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Don't have a clue about photography so I thought I would post a thread here for some advice from the experts !

Was having a search through the attic in my mam's house last week and came across this box with photos some dating back to 1890's up to the 1930's. Absolutely fantasic photos of my great grandfather in O'Connell Street, great shots of him and his friends at Nelsons Pillar and other landmarks in Dublin and also a few of what appears to be him at the GPO after the 1916 rising. Some of these photos are paper thin and quality not great with some of them badly creased. Does anyone know a place I could bring these photos to and have them re-printed. I presume it would have to be a photography shop that specialises in this kind of thing???

    All advice appreciated ! :D

I'm not familiar with shops in Dublin. Some people here may be able to offer their services.

Basically what you need is someone to scan the photos and then use something like photoshop to fix all the damage. It can be a bit tedious but the end result is very satisfying.
