I went to the cinema the other day. One of the actors got punched in the face. I left of course, it's ridiculous that they allow someone to be treated this way and advocate it as valid behaviour in the name of "entertainment"

imagine if your daughters decided to go into porn, that's the thing to do. if guys truly have no problem with that, then at least they aren't hypocrites.

women aren't usually forced into it, but a look behind the curtain at how the women in the industry are treated will cause most to be unable to 'enjoy' porn anymore.

There were a group of researchers who wanted to do a study on men who have never viewed porn. They were actually unable to find any participants because all the men they approached had viewed porn at some stage if not regularly.

Lisa Sparxx is a famous porn star http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_Sparxxx.
She has a masters degree and a minors in business and she decided to go into the industry. 99% of these girls choose themselves to go into the industry and they get bloody well paid for it. I work in sales and get abused and told to fvck off every second customer, people have no respect for me and they make me feel degraded. I am someone's child so why dont you help me? Oh wait it's my choice to do my job the same way it is for all of the big ass'd and big titted lovelies that i pull myself assunder to.

So if the girls felt they way you say they do why dont they just quit and get a normal job maybe in sales if they can handle it?

I am not going to pratice restraint, i am weak and i am locking myself in a room and pulling the balls of myself

Article on wikipedia, there not doing it for free.

Most male performers in straight porn are paid less than their female costars. Ron Jeremy has commented on the pay scale of women and men of the sex film industry: "The average guy gets $300 to $400 a scene, or $100 to $200 if he's new. A woman makes $100,000 to $250,000 at the end of the year.[9] "Girls can easily make 100K-250K per year, plus stuff on the side like strip shows and appearances. The average guy makes $40,000 a year."[10]
Some state that gay male porn generally pays men much more than heterosexual porn; a number of male performers, including Peter North, have appeared in both heterosexual and gay pornography.[11] Ostensibly, men who perform in gay pornography but identify themselves as heterosexual, most notably Wolf Hudson, are said to do gay-for-pay, that is, perform in gay movies only for the paycheck, not because of any personal attraction they have to other men.
According to producer Seymore Butts, who runs his own sex-film recruitment agency, as well as producing sex films; "depending on draw, female performers who perform in both straight and lesbian porn earn more than those who do [just heterosexual scenes] usually make about US$200–800 while those who only do oral sex (blow job) usually only make about US$100–300 for the scene".[12] It was also noted in an interview conducted by Local10 news of Florida that individuals were offered $700 for sexual intercourse while shooting a scene of the popular series Bang Bus in 2004 [13] According to Videobox, a porn website, actresses make these rates: Blowjobs: $200–$400; Straight sex: $400–$1,200; Anal sex: $900–$1,500; Double Penetration: $1,200–$1,600; Double anal: $2,000. For more unusual fetishes, women generally get 15% extra. [14]
In 2001 actress Chloe said of pay-rates; "In Gonzo, you're paid not by the picture, but by the scene. So it's girl-girl: $700, plus $100 for an anal toy. Boy-girl: $900. Anal: $1,100. Solo: $500. DP: $1,500."[5]
Additionally, besides appearing in films, porn stars often make money from endorsements and appearance fees. For instance, in 2010 some night clubs were paying female porn stars and Playboy Playmates to appear there to act as draws for the general public; Jesse Jane was reported to have been paid between $5,000 to $10,000 for one appearance by a Chicago club.

    From article also on wikipedia..
According to actor-turned-director Jonathan Morgan, "The girls could be graded like A, B and C. The A is the chick on the boxcover. She has the power. So she'll show up late or not at all. 99.9% of them do that."[5] Less successful actresses are more likely to perform more extreme acts such as 'double-anal'.[5] If an actress is willing to perform more extreme acts she will receive more offers of work.[5] Older or less attractive actresses are more likely to perform such acts in order to get work.[5] According to Morgan, "Some girls are used up in nine months or a year. An 18-year-old, sweet young thing, signs with an agency, makes five films in her first week. Five directors, five actors, five times five: she gets phone calls. A hundred movies in four months. She's not a fresh face any more. Her price slips and she stops getting phone calls. Then it's, 'Okay, will you do anal? Will you do gangbangs?' Then they're used up. They can't even get a phone call. The market forces of this industry use them up."

Are these the girls making $100,000 - $250,000 a year and everybody's happy?

I'm not sure why you keep referring tgo educational qualifications as if that has anything to do with anything. Is there a point to that? For every one porn actor or actress you know the name of there are hundreds and thousands more you don't, which you have no idea of their background, their mental state, financial state, health etc.

No, I'm not. Didn't make any suggestion of that either. The very act of calling every one a "pornSTAR" is in itself an attempt to gloss over the industry and imagine everyone as happy, benefitting, reaping the gains etc. We don't call people playing soccer up the Phoenix Park on a Sunday afternoon Football "Stars".

Yeah, silly me. Imagine having issues with an industry where one of the actors turned directors acknowledges how many girls get 'used up' and spat back out in months by the industry. What a star lifestyle. Can't imagine anyone not enjoying it.

Good for you. Stop trying to impose your standards on other people

But if you don't watch porn you're gay/a kiddy fiddler/ etc. :pac:

Perhaps it's to do with the promises of quick riches, success and stardom, as has been evidenced on this very thread.

That pretty much means that actors are the same?

Have you seen what an actress can go through when they're trying to break into Hollywood? What about a junior doctor who works 100 hour weeks for consultants who couldn't give a crap about them?

Actually I addressed the exact terminology you used:

Maybe you're a repressed "porn watcher" and don't realise it.

disregard and disrespect was used in another discussion, not this one. ( I do of course still think this)

junior doctor is the most laughable thing i've heard in AGES. i'll have to tell that to a few i know. don't think they'll be impressed.

please don't say i'm a repressed one, i couldn't be further from it. i'm extremely non repressed, but i - as i said - have standards and live by them.

i think society woudl benefit if more people voiced their concerns about these issues, so no, i will judge people by them.
