heres how the mindless others of society see the taxi driver .
but we wont go into their antics when they are in the back of your car and full of soup or playing with the chemistry set on a saturday night ,and then have to sit it out with the hangover in traffic on a monday morning while the taxi goes by in the buslane .

U really should be passing the first part easy enough.
It's all just common sense. I hit 100% on that twice and 92% twice. It's the second part people are having trouble with.

In all sincereity ,dont do it .I wouldnt advise anyone to get into the taxi business now,its finished .If youre on the dole stay on it ,as u will NOT get the dole IF you get a taxi licence and then decide to get out of it .Believe me YOU WILL want out of the business.....
I would advise you look at doing something other than driving a taxi .For your healths sake your financial state ,relationship ect ect ,,

I had done some research in these pometric testing. The central unit-computer server decides every questions issued to you, based on your time taken, your proportion of accurate /false answers, if you are quick to click the answers, for the questions, the later questions gets difficult, This principal is called Matrix ratio. This used to be followed in GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, or any other Centralised testing, as for example there are only 20 packs or 40 packs of question, so it picks randomly from of the Question pack and test your precision. and It reveals the next question based on all those i said earlier.

Now, iam not saying they may be following this kind of practice with SPSV, as this is a new method of testing, it is possible they could use the same pattern. That is reason, why 100 out of 1 pass out, with such twisted questions/tricky words of questions.

Eg Question : Location: O'Connell Street

1. Where is Spire?
2. what monument /statues in O'Connell Street?
3. Where is General Post office located?
4. What road connects O'connell bridge to Spire?
5. Roads adjoining O'connell street.
6. Revenue Office locations?

Well, you see they can make 10-15 questions based on one street/ one location. so each question will appear once in each question pack, so they have a logrithm pattern, like lotto, the number runs randomly. Some may be lucky to get repeated questions in the same centre, but that may one in every 800. So the chances of getting the questions are ruled out. But shares the overview of questions can be more appropriate for the forthcoming members/test takers.

I took my SPSV test this afternoon, but didn't suceed in part b-area knowledge. But as i said earlier, i have seen some random repeated questions, but i took the chance of marking the questions, and viewed all questions and replied at the end. This actually, revealed some simple questions,but with less complex. I was lost with some silly mistakes which i interperted wroningly with areas and streets. i revised all connecting roads, and adjoining roads, but my system which i learnt from PSV training in March, didn't help.

The best solution to get easy question is:
Click Mark and view all 36 questions.
I had 36 questions and 7 survey questions.

Try this method. it should help.

how did you get on with test i think its crasey i dtnt get any map on my first test i dtnt know the diff. i failed i done it again failed i am doing it again 16/9/09 its bloody expensive even when one test is passed second failed you have to do the two again thats unfair because i had a pilots licence years ago every paper you passed you could hold them and thats more important than spsv

What about if you went through them and clicked wrong answers instead of mark and then went back and changed answers?

You might be let go yet,for falling asleep at work hopefully it won't be while your driving the taxi.

Guys that work 5 (or 7 as some do ) days or nights a week driving and go out one or two of the remainder are more likely to fall asleep driving a taxi then me. I dont drink and what I do in work is not a bit tiring or physical. I willonly drive about 8 hours anyway fri sat sun

taxi skills test passed to-day got 81%. 84% at long last its a pain i sat test 3 times its expensive for licence now i have to pay 250 the questions are a bit trickey it very hard to help anyone they keep changing the questions. you would want to check every sports field hosp cinema motorway and streets main roads. i am glad i got anyway it was a struggle wish everyone doing the test the best of luck

Glad to know you all passed, now iam taking my second attempt in a week's time. After my previous research for Pometric test,which i have posted earlier, iam was thinking why i lost my first time in area. Inspite i knew the answers, the answer was: NEVER LOOK INTO THE MULTIPLE CHOICES ANSWER, BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR MIND ABOUT THE CORRECT ANSWER.
i tested myself with my trial questions and it worked. Probably, It was confusing when you look at all the 4 choices listed, as they resemble the nearest road, or location sometime.

Any comments.

Just passed for Tipperary (3 rd.attempt ).1st part had some wierd questions this time. Had to read some 3 or 4 times just to understand the question. Also asked about shoulder width and times for meter changeover,was asked about speed before. Area knowledge, just scraped in , it is a big county and consider myself very lucky. Before the smart remarks come from blalblah, have held a licence for 16 years, know the game this was for Dispatch Licence.Would be interested to know of any other people experiencing problems re Dispatch Operators Licence due to Skills Dev. Test.

maybe that's true, but what you will do when you get question like this: where is office of taxi regulator? everybody will say: fitzwiliam square. but they went further - they ask for fitzwiliam square west,east,north,south!! that's why this test is so difficult

I understand, North, west , south, east are making issues. Take Ordinance Survey map- city Map.

Let me tell you : What i doing?

I picked 3 different spots near St.stephen's Green
a. St.Stephen's Green.
b. Merrion Square
c. Fitzwillam Square.


Now, Take a White plain paper. Draw a Square Park for St.Stephen's Green.

I splitted North side Roads as some major/big roads connecting St.stephen's Green on North side.

a. Grafton's street- North-west 1st corner road.
b. Dawson Street
c.Kildare Street.

I drew the lines like mapping. then i took what roads connecting each main roads..
a. Grafton's Street to Dawson Street- Duke street.
b. Dawson Street- Molesworth Street

Next I looked at roads connecting These 3 roads...
a. Grafton Street to Dawson Street(s.Fredrick st)- Nassau Street
i found a road connecting Molesworthstreet to Nassau Street.
b. Leinster st. South....which then leads to Lincoln Place/Clare Street-merrion square.


When you breakdown such roads and draw a map. and practice. When you come across Museums, galleries. you can figureout which of the adjoining roads, are neigbouring roads, where the galleries where, so you can recollect.

So Strong Suggesting is spend atleast 20-30 seconds in understanding the question, get your answers in 10-15 seconds(if you know the answer).

And Then review the multiple choice. if it confuses, north south, west, east. Remember the map you studied. Where the north was.. now it will help you recollect the map..spend 10-15 seconds. and answer the question.
Totally. 60seconds for a question. IF in doubt, don't waste, Click MARK and come back, again, if you have enough time.

I got one tomorrow, how i do the same.. Wish me good luck. tips are always welcome.

Yea they called them on Monday just gone.
So I called the Garda and he said he was sending
it in that day and I would have it in two weeks.
So from when I passed the test to getting the licence
it will be 3 months.

And from the time you applied for the test first it will probably be close to 6 months from start to finish !! crazy stuff. Wonder why it takes so long to get the driving licence once you have passed the test and all your paper work is sent in in order.
