2 yr olds/yearlings

Hi,

I was just wondering where one would go to view yearlings or 2 yr olds with the option to purchase them. TB's are what I would be interested in. I am in the Wexford area.

Does anyone know of any website that lists the upcoming horse fairs that are on?

There are horse & yearling sales in Tattersalls (Co. Meath) in August for 3 & 4 year olds, and in September for yearlings http://www.tattersalls.ie/diary09.php

You wouldn't have too many thoroughbreds at the horse fairs. Cahermee is one of the biggest in the country and it's on next Monday. It's in Buttevant, Co. Cork.
Try Goresbridge sales maybe.

The yearling sales in goffs www.goffs.com are in September and October.
Are you looking for NH or flat horses?
Its a good year to buy, prices are going to be very low.
There are plenty of good breeders in Wexford that will have yearlings for sale out of the paddock.

They give a list of stud farms by county.

For example Artic tack stud have some great NH stallions standing

Contact any horse sanctuary. They're full of TB's at the moment. The word is that many trainers are euthanising young stock, so I'd say call any racing yard and you may have a few home with you for nothing.
