Yup,don't know the street name but it's held outside every Saturday in a car park beside a running track and near McDonald's.When the wife gets home later I'll find out proper street and let you know.

Edit: She lands in the second I pressed the reply button lol. It's held at the Letterkenny Community Center on Pearse road.

I'll have to go on a mini road-trip to letterkenny! Yeah boot sale was very big today. Appleidog, you find anything nice? I thought I seen you buying/looking at PS1 games but wasnt sure. I got Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, World league soccer for the N64 and a Nintendo folder from 1992. And a jigsaw :P There was for sale: a few xboxes ranging from €15-30. A silver 'cube with 5 good games - €25 and a boxed psone (little one) for €20. Was seriously tempted by the cube but decided against it.

In the end i didnt end up going! unfortunatly, but if that is Crash bandicoot 1 on the ps1 im sure we can come to some arrangement! if your looking for something cause im looking for that game.

It sucks i didnt go now!, I wonder when the one in Nutgrove ends!.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 260 ✭✭cynos

    Just back form from Balbriggan
Nothing of interest there, 2 old ps1's in tatty condition, 2 ps2's also in tatty condition but did actually sell.
one boxed ps2, one boxed xbox and a few games for each.

Word of warning, my Focus van was broken into at about 12/1 o clock, so if your ever going there leave nothing in your car, although they took nothing the lock is now broken.
they just broke in, opened glove box, saw 4 new R4 cards, opened one of them then threw them on the floor, actually they did take a really old miniture RC Submarine worth about €5 on ebay(probably not even working) new lol Idiots

It is indeed. It doesn't have the original box, its just in a CD case. I'll play through some of it, see how I like it then maybe do a swap?

That's sweeeeet,I'm just back from the car boot in limerick and I taught I done well but that's one hell of a haul. How much did that set her/you back? What i picked up in limerick was..............
Leisure Suit Larry - Magna Cum Laude
    Area 51
    Destruction Derby Arenas
    Roadkill
The Godfather - two disc tin
    Flat out
    The Great escape
    all for Ps2 for €20
Disney - Pixar Car (my young lad got it for free as it's badly scratched)
The fella was selling them at €5 for 1 or 3 for €10 so I haggled a bonus one outta him

Also picked up Mega games 1 and Premier Manager for the megadrive for a euro a piece.

My first time going to that Car boot,it's a bit smelly but if you've feck all to do on a sunday it's worth a visit

Anyone been to any good car boot sales lately? There's one in the Spawell every Sunday 10-3. Got a PsOne with PSU for a Euro. Nothing else the day I went beside a few stray PS2 games and PS1 boxes with no discs.

Spawell one is every Sunday I think, its usually pretty bad.
Harolds Cross one is ok, came across some SMS stuff and a SNES once.

I was at Fairyhouse/ Ashbourne Market this sunday and picked up a Mega Drive with two controllers + 4games (Sonic 1, a boxing game and two others whose names escape me.) All for €15, tried to haggle but the Lady was a tough one.

I'd say it was pure chance that I got this though, been to that market many times and rarely find any games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 321 ✭✭ani_mal

well I know that black horse market is pretty poor (as for me) they mainly sell clothes.
I know the Trim car boot sale is gone?? the same navan race course is gone?.. don't know why because I always picked up somethings there.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 520 ✭✭✭batari

Was at a car boot in Kildare (Caragh) on sunday, picked up one of those Binatone Games from the seventies. Perfect condition, in it's original box, all leads and controllers, even the instruction manual.

Got it home, hooked it all up....it was back in the box in about 30 seconds.

I guess there's a limit to my retroness. Nice to have it all the same, but I doubt it'll see light for a while. Ah well, only a fiver.

Has anyone em a list of venues for car boot sales and maybe dates?
It'd be nice just to do a plan up to try and get a few in like :o:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

Well it's nearly summer so there will be a few on around the place. The ones in Harolds Cross and the Spawell are still on afaik. Harolds Cross ones are every 1st and 3rd Sunday so the next one will be Sunday week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,409 ✭✭✭Butch Cassidy

    Sure, unless it's:

    a) A non sports game
    b) A MDC model 1
    c) HD Megadrive

Just screenshot, print and sign here:_______________________ :D

I might head to the one in Dundrum on Saturday since I'm going to have about 6/7 hours to kill in Dublin. Probably cheaper than hitting the cinema as well. :pac:

Sure what do you want with a MCD model 1, ugly machines. I'll gladly dispose of them for you.

I've only wanted one for the length of time you've been alive, but no no, you take it. :P

If my Megadrive super modification goes according to plan I think I'll get one on the bay.

Generally no, but it really really depends on what you have. If you've got some rare games (assuming you're talking games here, 'tis A&R after all) and you want a good price, sell 'em on ebay.
