At this point most people have a boyles account. I think this is novel way for boyles to get a bit of there added money back.

As per thread, 'dust off my boyles account' , it gets people playing on boyles again. even if it is only a few hours play at modest levels.B

You gotta deposit onto boyles anyway to buyin, might as well play a bit while you are there.

As for the gaurentee, i guess for those who doubt the numbers you can wait to sign up right at the end when everyone wants a ticket and risk missing it. TBH, with the added money you are getting value to register straight away.

Looked up the Skylon already ... but with other booking sites I found only €300 for 4 nights as the cheapest.

With Hostelworld I got it now for €212

We didn't block book all the rooms but Boyles do have a good few booked for each of the three nights. The Friday night must be booked by non-poker players too :rolleyes:...Failtehotels.ie is the only place to go to get the best deals on local hotels.

There are dozens of B&B's and hotels within very short walking distance to the hotel...We're not trying to frustrate anyone but we have been planning this for months and want to make sure that we take care of everyone.

Yes!, but its a good nightmare to have ... ... We will make sure that it runs very smoothly, because we're expecting it to have sold out in a few weeks we will have more than enough time to prepare.

i am missing something here you expect to get between 1000 and 1300 reg=1300x25=32500 plus rake from cash tables other bits and piecies rake taken at your site when people are playing no guarantee so can you tell exactly what boyles are bringing to the party

• An international Tournament on irish shores
• Cheap buy in with huge overhead costs
• Huge Prizepool for small buy in
• Rake they dont have to give away totalling over 20k
• Tables Chips staff
• They dont need to guarantee this event as its goin to be sold out as usual
• The tournament reg will not barely cover the staffing and running of the event .
• Reg fee also trys to cover food costs for players
• Cash table Rake will go towards Costs for Poker Ireland and give Steven and co some profit ( It aint a charity buisness he is running.
• Most importantly Answers to people who have not got a clue

This is a super valued tournament and the sooner people stop complaing when they have not played it the better . These sites have to get a return of investment into the event our else there is no event .. The marketing and advertising of this event is not cheap and its all good for the irish players to have Boyles backing this event and have a decent game on the shores . If the online company does not get sign ups then we have no big events.

Best of Luck to Boyles and Poker Irleland in this event im sure it will be a huge success as was last year . ill try stay longer then 2nd out this year lol

I can count on the finger of one... finger... the number of poker companies adding $25000 to a $250 tournament! what do you want them to do!?! pay for your hotel room, would that represent good value to you?

GET OVER IT, its $250 for a shot at about $40,000 score... if that doesnt represent value, then let it go, and don't play. Do you know many tournaments that don't charge a reg fee? Do you know many live casino's that don't charge a rake? if you do please share, if you don't, then be thankful that pokerireland/boards are putting on one hell of a show for your benefit.... but... lets, just for the craic, list some things that they are bringing to the party...

100+ dealers costing quite a few $$$$ over three days
70+ poker tables, these i'm afraid have never been free
Bounty's + Bonuses as per last year, sunderland jerseys, free chips, hats, tshirts etc etc.
Major Poker atmosphere, minor poker budget.
1299 other players for you to play poker against.

This looks like it will be a great tournament. Have worked as dealer at the last few ipo's as well as several other poker Ireland events and can say that they were always done in the most professional manner possible. I believe I will donate to the tournament this year however. Bring on October!!!

You have a right to ask questions. However, you have absolutely no idea how much things cost to put on or how much time goes into them. Nor how many people are involved behind the scenes that still have to be paid.

I can only comment on what I do for these events and believe me it takes a lot of setting up and a lot of work.

Answering silly questions is the bit I especially hate. But most people get the picture in the end.

Got booked into the Regency for the 17th and 18th

They said the phone's been red hot all day and they can't take any bookings for the 16th until if/when Boyle's tell them how many rooms they don't need.

Cheers for that lads, so it's really only the absolute minimum effort required on the part of the player in return for 25k added to the prizepool. If this is in just to ensure Boyles get something back for all they've given to the IPO than it is an absolutely superb trade off for the player it has to be said, can't see why people would complain about that considering what they're getting back.

I'll almost definitely be playing this this year anyway, played last year and it was brilliantly run as all Poker Ireland events tend to be. All they really needed to change was to let me run better on day two so we'll see about that :pac:

It shouldnt be too too bad .

We will have all our reports together well in advance of the start of the event.

When we get the seating plan together and printed off (with all the stacks to be adjusted highlighted) it will be handed over to Poker Ireland who will then have all the stacks adjusted well before players begin to take their seats.

Hi guys, I really don't want to start on like a broken record this year again. We are one day into the promotion campaign and we (at this moment in time) already have 44 players fully registered.

This is scaring me a little bit . I am planning to travel all over the country for the whole of next week to make sure that every player possible knows about this event and knows that they have to book NOW to make sure they get a seat.

At this rate (one day for 50 odd registrations) we will have this tournament sold out before the end of July...And although I'm not laying any supposed bets or whatever on this I am deadly serious about that prediction.

Please please please register early to avoid disappointment. Our International marketting campaign is going to kick off properly early next week too so it will really take off from there.

I missed this tournament last year and decided I was defo not making that mistake again. Managed to drop into the Regency and soak up the atmosphere and play a couple of single table sng's; the atmosphere was superb especially with Mad Marty et al commentating for the common punters like myself. (Hopefully more of the same this year...:pac:)

Congrats Stephen and Boyles on pulling this together. Just reg'd now so October can't come soon enough!

Ok Stephen I'm not missing it this year. What day 1 are all the pro's playing? I had the pleasure of sitting with Scotty on my right and Padraig on my left at the deepstack in February and it's an experience I'd rather not repeat.
Think I'll go for Friday.

Most of the pros played Friday last year.

That said, I played Saturday and at one stage had Scott Gray on one side and Mick McCloskey on the other

Yeah, it's the pure aggression that makes it difficult to contend with when they are sitting either side of you.

The hotel is block booked by Boylepoker for satellite winners, VIP's etc....The best thing I can suggest at this stage is to book into the Skylon Hotel, its about 300 mtrs away from the Regency.

Are the Vips u are referring to those that you earn for playing on Boyle or are they in fact Vips such as the pros ?
At what Vip stage on Boyles can u avail of a package for this event if possible , ta

The VIPs we speak about are Boylepoker VIP's and the bounty players we are bringing over.

We dont have any plans to give away IPO packages as part of the VIP scheme as yet

Is there any chance of having a bit more space this year? My abiding memory of last year's tournament is of being really uncomfortable for most of the day, although the organisation was far better than the previous year. Anyway, I'm in and regged for Day 1B, was delighted to find I had plenty of cash in my Boyle's account when I logged last night, probably for the first time in a year . I really don't aggree with the bonus chips for VIP points, but intend to take full advantage of them.

Ah this'll be deadly. Was fairly cramped, and quite 'close' last year.

Must see about registering in the coming weeks. And rooting out the address of the B&B I used last year too; great place, and right around the corner from the venue too.
