Is there any accurate guess you could put on this one filling up? Im not home for another 3 weeks and really want to play but can't reg yet.

The Saturday (1b) is filling up fast and 3 weeks is more than iffy. I'd guess you'll easily be OK for the Friday (1a) in 3 weeks time, but if 1b keeps filling fast then all bets are off.

    ick. i was 142 i think, 7 off the bubble. :(

My Mrs tried bragging that I came 101st out of 1200 in the largest tourney in Europe, but it has no ring to it :(

Top 100 or bust this time!

It's not like you burned the place down or anything is it? I'd be very surprised if they'd even remember ye. Or if they definitely would I want a belated trip report!

Not really sure to be honest. The first few days flew and we had 50 odd registered but we're two weeks in now and only at 220.

There are a good few overseas players registering this week so it will jump up in a few days but last year we had about 20 players registered at this stage and we sold out in the second week in September.

One thing they did in Killarney was to make sure that food was available all through the night, maybe include provisions for that?

gman, it's a staggered dinner break so the hotel is not overwhelmed by all the players and dealers wanting food at the same time..

As odd as it looks, it's completely fair. Everyone gets the same length of break and when it unwinds has paid out the same amount in blinds.

That was my first idea too but it doesn't work because there are different antes:

    18:00-18:40 Level 8; 300-600 50
    19:00-19:40 Level 8; 300-600 75

    19:40-20:00 Level 9; 400-800 50
    20:00-20:20 Level 9; 400-800 75

And the 300/600 happens two times while the 400/800 happens 3 times.

So even if this is for staggered breaks there seems to be something odd here.
But I am sure Stephen can explain how it works as soon as he's back.

    00:05-00:45 Level 35; 500,000-1,000,000 100,000

my guess this is to cater for the dinner break. i.e half the field stop and eat dinner, the other half of the field play on, then they swap and the returning half go back to the level they had played at. that said, i think there's a typo there for the antes. my guess is it should be:

    18:00-18:40 Level 8; 300-600 50 GROUP A
    18:40-19:00 Level 9; 400-800 50 GROUP A
    19:00-19:40 Level 8; 300-600 50 GROUP B
    19:40-20:00 Level 9; 400-800 50 GROUP B
    20:00-20:20 Level 9; 400-800 50 everyone
    20:20-21:00 Level 9; 500-1,000 75 everyone

i've changed all the ante's to 50 for the 300-600 and 400-800 levels. so from 6pm tp 7pm half the room plays (group a) and half the room eats (group b), then at 7pm, group b comes back from dinner and plays the same levels that group a have just played, while group a go an eat dinner. so everyone will have eaten and played 300-600 and 20 mins of the 400-800 level, then at 8pm, everyone plays the last 20mins of 400-800. do ya follow? :)

I promise it's the right way of it even though it's beyond me to explain it. As you say, that's what Stephen get's paid the big dough for. edit 3 groups last year? not sure

Wow! But that makes sense

    But then the
    20:20-21:00 Level 9; 500-1,000 75

shouldn't be Level 9 but 10 and so on ... as Level 9 is the 400/800
And in that case we only have one level with the 75 ante while all others keep the same ante for two levels!

as per my edit coz you guys seem alert at daft o'clock, think there are 3 groups, not 2.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,860 ✭✭✭ditpoker

lol, my latest guess is that the 500-1000 level SHOULD be Level 10 and not level 9. I also reckon ste is going to wake up and realise this, and realise that all his level names are out by one, and will be sitting beside 10,000+ fliers with the blind levels on it which are now incorrect. I then reckon ste will need a beer! :)

it looks like the levels are correct, just the level names are a tad out and the ante's in that break level may need a tweak.

as per my edit coz you guys seem alert at daft o'clock, think there are 3 groups, not 2.

if there are 3 groups my head will hurt! :)

i'm 99% certain there are 2 groups, cos i remember the dealers being split in half for this same purpose. you;d think i'd remember!!

I'll happily defer to you on this.

I remember eating and drinking and .... yeh well .... so then Marty comes over and says my Mrs wants to know my chipcount and I know I've got chips, but counting them and talking to Marty and playing poker and not looking down the dealer's top when you're in seat 1 all got a bit much :D

    I've qualified for $4.

I'll be a good winner for the organisers if I win.

Probably been asked already but how many SNGs would you need to play to qualify for the 2k extra chips? Would 20 x $5 suffice?
Or how many MTTs would do the trick?
