i've changed all the ante's to 50 for the 300-600 and 400-800 levels. so from 6pm tp 7pm half the room plays (group a) and half the room eats (group b), then at 7pm, group b comes back from dinner and plays the same levels that group a have just played, while group a go an eat dinner. so everyone will have eaten and played 300-600 and 20 mins of the 400-800 level, then at 8pm, everyone plays the last 20mins of 400-800. do ya follow? :)

Thats exactly it Jeff, cheer for that...Sorry about typo, its looks funny but its the best way I can display the dinner break I think.

I promise it's the right way of it even though it's beyond me to explain it. As you say, that's what Stephen get's paid the big dough for. edit 3 groups last year? not sure

Lol, I'll still be driving a 99 Focus after the IPO this year I can promise you that....All the value goes to the players :)

There were two groups for dinner last year so its going to work the exact same way this year.

Cheers all, glad to see everyone getting into the spirit of the event (i.e. its all about the playas).

    So just to clarify everything:

    Beside that
    20:20-21:00 Level 9; 500-1,000 75

is labled wrong and should be level 10 ... and counting from there (which is only a minor hickup) it is correct that there is only one level with ante 75 as the next one is the 600-1,200 100 level?

    Thanks
    Harald

If I register for this and then find that I can not play -

    a) Do I get a refund,

    b) Can I transfer my registeration to someone else,

    OR

    c) Get a credit to my Boyle Sports Poker account.

I'd say C. The same as most online poker skins, when you click unreg from the tourney, the money will be transferred back to your poker a/c.

You can register now, today or in a few more days when we are much closer to selling out :), either way you have to make 250 VIP points between 1st August and 31st August and then another 250 VIP points between 1st September and 30th September to receive the full 2,000 chip bonus.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

And we've broken the 250 mark....Again there are a lot of European players registering this week and once we hit the 500 player mark the first 1,000 seats will be completely sold out within a few days (if past experience is anything to go by).

    Keep 'em going players :)

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

So I won a seat into the satellite on Friday, so if I get lucky the entire thing will cost me less then €5!!! But even if I don't get through, and buy in, will my VIP points before I register be void?

Your VIP points count no matter what happens. Once you play on Boylepoker.com between 1st August and 31st August (and achieve 250 points) and then get on again between 1st September and 30th September (and achieve 250 points) you will receive the bonus chips.
If you do not get the required points you will not get the bonus chips, whether you buy-in direct or satellite in.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

I hate the fact that I will be down 2,000 chips because I do not play online.

I doubt whether I will ever play online because as far as I am aware the online poker rooms do not operate by any recognized code of practice and there is no recognized proven methodology for the testing and verification of their systems.

For the record while I may be aged......I have been involved in IT for over 40 years. :D:D

However I think it is a superb marketing tool that I can envisage more online poker rooms using in the future to promote their tournaments.:)

    Hi Pat,

Live tournament organisers, casinos etc are not governed in any real way but you play live poker...I'm sorry to hear you will be starting with 8,000 chips as I'm really hoping that every player starts with 10,000 (it makes my job much easier :) ).

If anything the vast majority of online poker sites are extremely strict (and of course especially Boylepoker operate by a very well recognized code of practice) when it comes to security...The kind of money we are talking about here (to attain 250 VIP points) is quite small too really.

    Cheers,
    Stephen.

Who gets the rest of them? Comped celebs I guess. btw do the pro's etc have to earn the VIP points too?

Don't forget that they need a bunch of seats for the satellite winners!
I assume they wait as long as possible how much of the remaining 300 seats will be won and then release the rest shortly before the event. But I wouldn't count that many are left then...

I did think of this but why even care. Do people not understand this is to try and create a new customer base.

In theory all marty smyth has to do is play a $50 sng to earn his his 250 points.

This is aimed at the us 1000 mortals who want to play in the ipo. Im sure boyles will be trying to attract some celebs to boost the profile of the tournament. I very much doubt they will ask them to earn 250 points.

There's nothing immortal about the celebs, they just get more publicity and raise the profile of the event in relation to main stream press etc...The team at Boyles pointed out that detail to me early on, that they would make sure that every single player, celeb or mortal would have to earn 250 VIP points (in August & September) in order to get the 2,000 bonus chips.

OK, but will celebs be allowed to pay on the day ?

like say if Phil Helmuth turned up, would he be able to pay on the day and how many chips would he start with ? 10k ?
