    Hi,

Could you guys and gals recommend a magic set or kit for an adult as a pressie? Not too hard but a bit challenging to make it fun!

    Thanks a million!

"sets" don't really exist in the adult magician world, at least, not for anyone who is an enthusiast of any sort. some websites will sell you beginners sets, or bar-trick sets, but if the person you're looking to buy for is interested in magic, or interested in getting started in it, I'd sooner recommend you buy him/her a good dvd, or book, and a 12 pack of bicycle playing cards! See the stickied threads for recommendations on books/dvds etc, the royal road to card magic is a good starting point, but some people (myself included) learn better from dvd.
any of the dvds on this page would be a great starting point. I began with sponge balls, and they still get a huge reaction, and require a little skill. The spongeball dvd and a set of balls wouldnt set you back too much! http://www.penguinmagic.com/gifts.php

this set is £60 but is excellent. http://www.magictricks.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=4671
