Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Great shots I must say!

First one is definitely my favourite, any chance of posting a larger version?

The first one is great.... I assume it was taken 2 seconds after a flash, and 10 seconds later there was a big mushroom cloud? :)

They're all really nice. Maybe a tad overdone with the processing in Nº7. Theres a bit of a halo between the skies and the buildings.

    Very nice collection.
What were the processing steps for No.4 (ie. 4 shots into panoramic , then HDR?) , and what software do you use to create the panorama image?

I've gone mad on my panoramic shots recently!

It's actually 12 portrait shots! That shots covers about a 270degree sweep from the spire of the cathedral. There's no clear view so shots were taken from several different little turret windows on the spire. Because of this I used quite a lot of overlap to try smooth out the changes in position.

    DSCF4916.jpgDSCF4917.jpgDSCF4918.jpgDSCF4919.jpgDSCF4920.jpgDSCF4921.jpgDSCF4922.jpgDSCF4923.jpgDSCF4924.jpgDSCF4925.jpgDSCF4926.jpgDSCF4927.jpg

The shots were then combined using Microsoft ICE.
    After that I cropped it. Here's a pre-crop preview...
    uncropped_stitch.jpg

I then made two additional copies of the file - upped the exposure in one, reduced it in the other. Then generated a HDR image in Photomatix and played around with the Tone Mapping.

Always feel HDR images come out a bit flat, so upped the contrast a bit on the output then.

It was a rough enough job really - as you can see from the building on the right! ;) Not bothered doing an accurate job on it as it'll never be a great photo of Geneva because the massive 140m geezer in the lake was switched off that day - too windy.

Yeah I actually saw that when I was doing it but sometimes it's nice just to have an unapologetic dirty HDR! Especially when the original only barely made the recycle bin cut!

Sorry OT but it looks like that dog is wearing his balls around his neck... I've never laughed so much in my life.

Back on topic. I love No. 1
