Apologies if this has been brought up before - we are bringing the family up to Buncrana middle of next week for a few days. I am looking for advice as to what would people could do in that area, have three kids so something with them in mind would be great.

    Thanks..

There's not an awful lot to do in Buncrana if I'm being honest. Within the town there is Swan Park, which is a lovely walk. Just outside there are some nice beaches at Lisfannon or you can take a drive to Clonmany/ballyliffin which has some nice scenic areas. Most of the things to do in the area are pretty much scenic based. Plenty of good fishing spots if you're into that too.

They'd probably enjoy Griannan, which is a big ring fort which they can run around exploring. Bout 20 mins drive away.

If you're looking for specific kid based activities though your best bet might be to head into Derry where there's a lot more to do. Only 20 mins from Buncrana. Where you staying? Could recommend you a few restaurants etc if you want.

a few items of intereast in buncrana next week.

Tullyarvan mill are to host a week long childrens art festival.
festival park always popular with children though weather dependant as it is on the shore front.
waynes world is an indoor childrens play center, climbing frames .slides, ball pools etc.
leisure center and pool could be an option
local cinema evening showings and sunday matinee
Fort Dunree is a military museum and next week it hosts an artlink exibition.
    buncrana also has quad biking
you may want to experience a swilly safari ( boat trip on the swilly)
also on friday merlin the magician is to appear at rathmullan house and the ferry trip over may add to the experience. (leaves buncrana pier).
doagh island famine village is definately worth a visit 20 minutes from buncrana.
could also be worth dropping into buncrana library as they regularly have story telling etc.
Dont know of any other events for next week might be worth giving buncrana tourist office a ring in advance.
    hope this helps
