You would probably do better info wise by posting in the Kerry forum, as you might have locals there that could help you.

Just had a peek in the Kerry forum and they have a Ballybunion thread there. It is a mixture of people talking about their memories and experiences of the place but also has people talking about events, places to stay etc.

Ballybunion, Monday Night aka Monday Night Madness. It's nothing particularly organised, just one nightclub is open and attracts a huge crowd.

Steer clear. Monday Night madness was started by one pub/nightclub in Ballyb, Jd's back in 2002-2003. It was a great event for locals and the surrounding area. No trouble what so ever. Last year two pubs got together and put on buses from the worst of the worst of places. This brought in the worst of people and now there is only two pubs locals can go into (exchange and Jd's) without seeing teeny boppers or langers messing and fighting!!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are great nights in Ballyb. Sat night would have a lot of locals out, no trouble.

is any word on this?people keep asking me to go but sounds awful

Well if you're into Trad etc... Its not a place to go.
Its a place for young'uns (like me) to go out on a Monday night in the Summer and get quite drunk and wonder for a few hours how the hell im going to get the 20 something miles back into Tralee... which inevitibly happens but my wallet becomes a lot lighter after it.

No doubt it is great craic, as mentioned The Exchange is decent, they have live music on playing some good stuff.
However steer clear of JD's. No matter what you do, your shoes end up covered in sh1te, it smells awful, and you are bound to get a belt in the face or groped (male or female :P)
