Wow! JG gone and his last show was last night?
What a strange coincidence that I unknowingly taped (by VCR) most of his "last show", (went to bed after he went for a 1:D so I'm not sure if I got the end of it and I haven't watched it back yet.)

Maybe I could post it up... could take me a while though....:o

Now my head is together again...I think it is a bit of a coincidence that he's going after the publicity in the paper. He obviously know's it's not a fair game and I really admire him for hanging up his boots there. and not being a hypocrite. Hope he get's a good presenting job...he is great at it....Will be watching out for him.....

They should have done a goodbye montage.

"Everybody needs a montage. MONTAGE!!!" :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 51 ✭✭farryakafaz

I can also imagine his interviews for future jobs.

    Interviewer: Any references?

JG: Well I do have a sort of unorthodox one, if you will...
    It's a thread on boards.ie?

    Int. : ... (eyebrows raised)

JG: Well you see, I seemed to get a bit of praise from posters
despite the fact that the last company I worked with had, let's just say
'shady methods' and leave it at that.

Edit: Purely hypothetical of course !

    Int: (long pause) :D

Did you hear him saying a few minutes ago "this is getting to be a nightmare, its dragging on so long".... at least he can speak out now...he doesn't care!
    Yeh he def.needs a MONTAGE

great, it's Lauren with an eyes game and as usual everyone is ringing in with one set of eyes.

    my guess:
    2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11

Really sorry to hear JG is leaving...missed that announcement last night. Typical!!

However, I'm not too surprised. With his talent and personality why would he want to stay in a show like playtv?? He's wasted there, trying to keep a sham of a show together. Go JG!!

There are far better opportunities out there waiting for you. :):)

    Good luck!!

I see JG has updated the wikipedia page for the last time.

This is easily one of the worst games they've had on this show in a while.

    Is it number 2?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 985 ✭✭✭APM

its multiple answers and won't be won without a massive hint. In 2 hours on a Saturday night all they've given out so far is €150

The show is as pathetic as the presenter

"It's Saturday. Where are you all?
Do people usually go out on Saturday? I don't know.
    We've loads of money.
    It's Saturday. Come on.
    It's Saturday.
Look at Megan Fox. Look at the eyes.
Maybe you're drinking tonight. It's Saturday. You're allowed to do that. It's Saturday.
Don't look at Megan Fox... Look at me.
Look at the eyes. It's Saturday.
Come on you can do this. Saturday."

*sigh* It's actually Sunday but hey.

Switched off for about 45 minutes and turned back on. People still ringing up giving stupid answers.

    "Hello"
    "How'ya"
    "What's your answer?"
"Oh is this the live show?"
    "Yes. What's your answer?"
    "Ha ha.. Nothing"

Still can't believe this game is still on. I want a new game. I didn't stay in tonight for nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

You've gotta feel sorry for the presenter.
Same game for the last 3 hours or so.
Talking continuously for that amount of time can't be easy.

But she's not really making her job any easier.
She's not given out any clues.

    I think it's 2,4,6 and 10

EDIT: What a crock of sh*t.

I really dont understand this game..I switched the game on earlier and turned on again there only to see the same game was on ? And to make it worse I have never seen someone with such a bland boring personality.....like a weak handshake sort of thing...monotone idiot with big man hands..

TV3 to keep lucrative late night quiz show, despite 16 viewer complaints being upheld
    Ken Foxe, Public Affairs Correspondent

TV3 said it has no intention of dropping a controversial call-in programme despite 16 official complaints against it being upheld by broadcasting authorities.

Play TV, which broadcasts from midnight on the station, is now the subject of a further 11 complaints but will continue to be broadcast for the foreseeable future.

The station said the quiz programme would continue, adding that TV3 was operating in "the height of a recession" and that the programme was an important generator of revenue.

A spokeswoman said: "There were 89 complaints made and 62 of those have been finalised. Of that, 46 were either resolved or rejected and there were just 16 which were upheld.

"Every complaint has been dealt with and to have 16 upheld since May is virtually nothing when our viewership of the programme can go to 30,000 or 40,000 each night.

"The majority of the complaints were technical and every single complaint has been resolved. We work with RegTel and the broadcasting authorities 100% on this and we take the complaints very seriously."

TV3 said that the programme had been doing well and that the station was "doing it for a [financial] reason".

The spokeswoman said: "We do not have a TV licence. We had 40 redundancies earlier in the year. We need to do everything in our power to keep the station going and the full staff going.

"Since autumn, the station has been doing better than we ever have. [As regards Play TV], we haven't had as many complaints.

"We have set up an agreement with Eircom to tell people when they've reached their 50-call limit. We have taken responsibility and that was our decision.

"We are in a troubled market at the moment. We are a commercial station and we have to make money. We treat any complaint as seriously as would happen with any other programme."

Last week, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland published its findings on the 16 complaints registered against Play TV. Many of the complaints alleged that the way the programme operated was "misleading and unfair".

Each of them rejected arguments by TV3 that the quiz show was similar to competitions run on programmes like the Late Late Show.

And they also criticised TV3's response to many of the complaints with one finding saying: "The members noted that the submission from the broadcaster was general in nature and did not address the specific issue raised by the complainant.

"Given the nature of the complaint, the commission would express its disappointment with the broadcaster's submission on this occasion."

Good God, 2 nights in a row of Lauren. 3 hours of incoherent complete nonsense talk coming up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,282 ✭✭✭BMollie

So if people watch tonight, out of curiosity, after the article in the paper...they will see nice, easily solviable games. And the calls coming through. Looks okay they will say! But I hope they persist for another half hour or so, and then they will see what it's all about...maybe they might even ring in, and wonder of all wonders waste some money! Then they will really find out what it's all about!
That would be a feat in itself!

When I had you on PlayTv
    I didn't want you around
Those pretty faces always made you stand out in a crowd
But someone picked you from the bunch
one glance was all it took
Now it's much too late for me to take a second look

Oh JG give me one more chance
(show you that I love you)
    Won't you please let me
    (back in your heart)
Oh JG I was blind to let you go
    (let you go baby)
But now since I see Lauren on your show
    (I want you back)
    Yes I do now
    (I want you back)
    Ooh ooh baby
    (I want you back)
    Ya ya ya ya
    (I want you back)
    Na na na na
    I WANT U BACK
