FTP Issue

    I'm trying to close FTP port 21 on a Windows 2003 Server. I had unchecked it in the firewall settings but the company who we will be hosting needs it closed at the service level and not the TCP level. How would I go about doing this?

    Also would it be possible to use SFTP (port 22) instead of FTP without disturbing all access to the server?

    Well service level means you need to disable it in IIS.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323384 (Just work the other way around to disable)
    What are you trying to achieve anyway?

    ISP want you to disable this but you still need to have some Upload mechanism to this server isn't?

    No we are hosting a site in conjunction with MSN and they will not go live until our server has port 21 totally blocked. The trouble is that once it's blocked (even at TCP level) then nobody can FTP data onto that server so I need to implement SFTP so people can access the server securely and keep MSN happy.
