Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hello all, I had an accident involving a bike chain snapping and me landing hard on the ground some time ago. The only real victim of the incident was my watch:

The strap completely came away from the body on both sides and unfortunately, a piece is missing, so I'll need something ordered most likely. Anyone know of a place that might be able to help me out in Dublin city centre preferrably.

    Thanks!

There's a lad that's been on Abbey street for years called Time Express, he's across from Arnott's abbey street entrance, it's a wooden door and he's on the second floor, had many a watch fixed.

It's unfortunately not just the spring bar (I'll need them both replaced too), it's the final link on the strap that the spring bar fits into. See the left side of the pic below for what I mean.

I would agree, especially with the suggestion of the NATO strap. Great strap which adorns most of my military/rugged type watches. Very secure and no issues with getting wet or allergies etc. Though being the anal pedant I am those linked aren't the "real" deal. PVD coated? Stitched and not bonded seams?? Good God Sir! Haaaarumph. :D Told you. Anal and not a little sad....:o:D

I keep forgetting about this thread :D

Anyway, for Mr Wibbly Purist: where might one find the "real deal" of these Nato straps? They look good.

:) well these are close enough to the real deal. They're dirt cheap too and you can get them in all sorts of colours, including the "james Bond" grey banded one. http://stores.shop.ebay.ie/SecTime-Watches-and-Accessories_Watch-Straps-Bands_W0QQ_fsubZ7883762QQ_sidZ203528899?_nkw=nato&submit=Search

Pulling up an old thread to see if anyone has had any experience actually sending a watch back to Casio.

I have a G-Shock that is only a few years old and when I brought it to a battery place, they could not get it working. Neither the digital or analog components on the watch work.

Thinking that this one is beyond a local repair shop and probably needs to go back to Casio. Anyone know Casio authorised dealers in Dublin that would organise this for me ?

    Thanks in advance.

Went through the Casio UK repair process noted above with my (supposedly bulletproof) G-Shock. Very good service and complete reapir of the watch with new parts.

Cost me about €40 shipped to get the work done (about 1/3 the price of the watch itself) but at least it's all up and running again!

    A good service.
