Christening gift for my Godson?

Hi folks. First time uncle and soon Godfather to be here. Obviously I want to get my Godson a special gift but am stuck for ideas. I'd prefer not to get him something religious, but i would like something of substance that will have a sentimental value to him in the future. Thoughts?
