Candy Dishwasher CS 455M

THe dishwasher is draining and as far as I can see water is entering the pump-not sure if it is actually entering the machine though because Candy will not wash. THe float valve seems to be in working order however, after dismantling it i am unsure of how it works. Any suggestions? Thank you
