A single turn punch on an empty revenge guage knocks it up to full instantly?

It's 560 damage, so enough for another level 1 ultra, yep!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,020 ✭✭✭Ry

That's mental 1 turn punch? I'm baffled. I see it there how it takes over half his health! :/ Is that something to do with the impending ultra?

    Ry

No, turn punch does more damage the longer you hold the buttons down. That's the final one (around a minute of charging before you let it fly). That's why he says "one!" "two!" "three" etc. when you let it go, that's the level of the punch.

Something interesting I just saw via HG101, from that Father Ted episode.
Note that, in keeping with the trope, they're just randomly mashing buttons and appear to be using Atari-ish joysticks. This is weird because the game in question is shown briefly to be Street Fighter II:

...but wait a minute. Isn't there something odd about that shot? Note the solid black background on the status bar. That's right, this is the beta of the Genesis version of Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition, shown to the press in early 1993 and delayed until later in the year to retool it to more closely match the arcade (and SNES) game.

Man I remember when images of the beta first surfaced, they were horribly yellowed and the sprites looked awful sucky... seeing as my SNES owning pals had WW for a year or so, it was a bad time to be a megadrive owning FG fan!

Wow... I like Mike Ross and he's the one who inspired me to pick up Honda, but he's just too reckless.

lol I actually recorded one of those yesterday, uploading it at the moment. I msg'd the guy and told him to exit out and set his framerate to fixed but he wouldn't listen. So I decided to beat him as Dan and record it. I'll post it here when it's up, there is a pretty sweet Dan ultra in it, in variable frames slowmo :pac:

Another one for Guile Fans (DDoom)

Round 2 Madness - Poor Mike Ross.

You wouldn't think it but that 1 extra frame in his jump seems to really screw Honda against Guile.

Here's the clip I was talking about. Skip to 3:14 for the slomo ultra.

Breaking the wing and all. N1, thats what the feckin eejit gets for forcing people to play him in slow motion.

Btw, what resolution and file size is are your vids before you upload them?

I have a 10 min vid I uploaded as a test, resolution is mini dv pal (720x576)

The vid was compressed with xvid from a 20gb file to a 300mb file and still looked crystal clear. But when it went up on youtube it looks horrible. Even HQ , no where near as good as it should.

Those RH to Jab combos are so good.

This guy seriously abuses the RH loop. That kind of execution is godly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,005 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

I assume that only works on certain characters?

My god, sagat's health is unreal!! I know there's a lot of damage scaling but wow. Really notice it when the health bar is not there :pac:

I assume that only works on certain characters?

It works best and can be looped on characters with large hitboxes like Sagat, Rufus and Zangief. But it also works on a lot of the other characters under the right conditions.

Here's a good video detailing it:

    Poongko (EL) vs Mago (GU)

    Poongo owns

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,707 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

    Poongko's execution is GDLK.
And he's still gonna lose to Daigo in a mirror match.

That run stop punch combo was stunning, that is the most incredible thing I've seen in a long time.
