I planted my first Laburnum in April, it started to grow and had the beginnings of some nice foliage. All of a sudden it seems to get some sort of disease and all growth just died.

I was so upset I cut it all back and now there is noting - Can anyone advise if I need to take it up or will it come back next year ? Anyone got any ideas ?
    Thanks

If a tree is suffering the last thing you do is cut it back. If it was diseased the disease will go with the leaf and same applie sto most deciduous plant material. New growth would probably be healthy. I suspect in this instance the tree has dropped leaf early probably caused by sudden changes in weather.

Anyways, seems you've goosed it. So start again?
