    stelling is a legend,saturdays wouldnt be the same without him....does anyone know if that guy max will be on soccer am next season...used love soccer am when lovejoy was on it,but since he's left the show has gone into demise and to be honest couldnt be arsed watching it most weeks

    Possibly the most pre-meditated rant I have ever seen.

    He's actually clueless about football and spends his time licking the arse of the equally ****e pundits that are Merson, Nicholas, Thompson, Le Tissier and Walsh.

    Cringeworthy viewing IMO, I'd much rather just watch a full game of my team on a Saturday via a stream and then catch MoTD that night.

    He's definitely not a legend IMO, he couldn't be further away from that status.

    You're in the minority my man
    hard to know how much he knows about football
    given all the stats are in front of him on a screen
    but id say he's well knowledgeable
    the pundits come and go and if they
    changed them all on a weekly basis
    nobody would even realise it
    merson is ****e, thomson is ****e
    and the other two aint much better
    If they dropped those four pundits would anyone
    actually notice? I doubt it very much
    stelling is ireplaceable in my opinion.
    without him there would be no soccer saturday
    and when he was out his replacements were ****e
    I'd watch soccer saturday before a match myself
    as its great craic at times
    Without stelling id skip soccer saturday
    he is a legend
    he's great on countdown also

    Who could possible do a better job?

    I fully agree with other posters about how good Steling is. I wonder how much wedge he is on and whether any other channels have tried head hunting him. With his charisma and fantastic powers of retention I could see him turn his hand to anything. Hate to see him go down the reality TV route a la Ant and Dec but could imagine him turning his hand to that too.
