I noticed a tiny kinda white whiff come off with my binos (this was about 20 secs after EFT seperation). Anybody know what that might've been?

The tanks aren't PAINTED orange, the materials on it are naturally orange! (Being abit pedantic but it was painted white for the first few launchs of the shuttle, but they scrapped it to save weight).

You're right, its the foam's natural colour; the white blast you saw was probably the thrusters; I watched the separation on Nasa TV, and the rear left lateral thruster was firing continously for a number of seconds for some reason.

EDIT: Thanks Zirconia, just watching the replay, that's probably it. Made the sighting all the more exciting!

Another great view of the ISS from Dublin, what are the chances of seeing both objects merge, will this happen in our nightzone for visability?

Hang on, didn't Nasa say they would hook up on Friday?

They just missed each other by 10 mins.

Just saw the ISS in Celbridge, moving from SW to E. Was a lot more composed this time and filmed it for 90 secs unlike my attempt at the shuttle which lasted for 6 secs.

looking forward to tomorrow night and hopefully see the shuttle chasing the Space Station across the sky.

Stunning view of the ISS as well tonight, but the shuttle was just amazing.

Saw the ISS from Dublin. Interesting the way it disappeared, it became invisible before going over the horizon.

Well done to the Astronomy Forum for getting nearly 500 views at one stage!

And since when has astronomy become so popular?:p
