I ordered from Cdwow.ie - couldn't get the £ 4.49 to come up. i paid by paypal and got the cancellation email.
However I have not received any other emails and on cdwow it is showing as backordered and the real kicker in this is that I haven't received a refund to my paypal account.
Anyone else in this situation ?

I got the exact same (well, apart from the name!), even though I have had my refund processed.....

Hmmm.. I sent them an e-mail pissing and moaning that my order was cancelled and "my friends order" was honoured and got this back:

Thank you for your e-mail and sorry for the inconvenience caused due to cancellation of your order.

Please be informed that this order was cancelled and a full refund has already been processed back to your card. As a goodwill gesture, we are honouring your order and the item will be sent to you free of cost. We will not charge you for this order again as we do not store any card or bank details.

We have also sent you an e mail regarding the same. Please could I ask you kindly to check your ‘Junk E-mail’ folder as it is possible that the e-mail could have been filtered out as spam.

Got no e-mail from them. I'm highly skeptical to be honest!

well if they dont send em out now their doing themselves far more har to their company image than if they had just left it at "we aint got no more stock"....,
hard to say why they were doing humoring some of us with these emails and not others (if it is a load of hot smoke their sending us that is)... maybe their not sending the "goodwill gesture" until we kick up a fuss.... i got nothing until i said I want my order but do not give permission to be charged anymore than 5.99 which is what i agreed to..., I can see a laptops direct kind of scenario now where they just keep saying "sorry out of stock again" until we get fed up and ask to cancel it all...

(hopefully im wrong though... because i reli want this now.... but would never pay 50 fudging euro for it:)

Ordered mine at st£5.99. Got the usual 'we cannot source' cancellation email.

Got the full refund. Then got the 'we are sourcing' email, then the 'dispatch on 20th July' one.

After their previous shenanigans I had written them off. If I get €50+ worth of BD for free......nah......still write them off.

maybe starship troopers just sucks alot more than i remember and they want to get rid of all their stock. Could all be some kind of elaborate poorly run marketing scheme to get us looking at cdwow more often to see if they have any other "mis-prices".....

Yeah, exact same here...
Made the payment via paypal, so it's not like they can charge me for it now. I'll take back some of the stuff I said about CDwow if this actually arrives... Can't believe they're honouring this after refunding everyone...

Almost seems like this was planned to get them some free positive publicity via word of mouth...

Lads.. I'd recommend checking your Paypal / credit card accounts as listen to these comments over at the HUKD forums:

Mines been despatched too, and just checked my bank account and £4.49 has been charged for it.

Make sure you check your paypal accounts properly, they do re-take the £4.99- see here;

Seems they gave the refund, then instructed PayPal to hold the £4.99 to pay for it now they are to honour it???

Strange as it says £4.99 when I ordered at £4.49? Still not complaining, £4.99 for a £54 blu-ray box set can't be bad. Mine has been despatched too.

Maybe it's becaiuse you used a bank account as source fund.

I did get the cancellation email like everyone else. I ordered off the .ie website as it was showing up as £ 5.49 on the .com and € 5.99 on the .ie.
Still I'm happy enough with getting it for €5.99

Actually.. my credit card statement lists only the original charge (on the 14th) and the refund (on the 15th).

Nothing else.. so might actually be free after all!

Mine arrived this afternoon too, but nothing has come into my bank account even though it shows as refunded on paypal, and my paypal balance is 0... Odd:pac:

@the groutch - chances are it was listed wrongly as region B, just because it is a PAL release... They have other region free titles listed as region B on the site
