Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big Jason McGuinness (it's not often he has to look up to an interviewer) on Bohs' chances tomorrow (Wednesday).
The match is on Austrian TV but, needless to say, not on Irish. So much for the era of global communication, eh?
    We probably don't stand a chance, but here's hoping.

I hope Bohs do well in this tie.

Id be very happy with 0-0, 1-1 or even a 2-1 defeat to bring back to Dalymount. Theyve lost a few of their best players, new manager in and they're still in preseason.

Why is this not been shown on Irish TV?

RTEngland are showing the Icelandic National Tiddlywinks U14 First Round clash between Bjarne Gudmonsson and Thor Thorsson.

My money is on the Son of The God of Thunder.

Any injury worries for Bohs tonight?

Looks like ye won't have Carey anyway tonight. I hope Bohs do well all the same.

Looks like no Heary, and Cronin is out too, along with the FAI ban on Carey. But we have Deegan back, which will make a big difference in midfield.
    Tomorrow night, btw.

Probably because Bohs/FAI have not asked them.

These games would pick up far more casual viewers than your standard LoI match.

Ridiculous that this isn't on any Irish channel.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,890 ✭✭✭SectionF

There's talk on the Bohs MB of several internet streams. I'll post them here later.

I really don't understand how none of the Irish channels is running this, given that it's going to be on satellite on the Austrian channel. Surely it would reasonable even as filler material for Setanta or City Channel.

Makes me sick when I see RTE showing ****e like the confeds cup and not supporting their national league.

Sure they do – Austrian teams haven’t exactly been setting the world alight lately. In fact, the Austrian league is only ranked 4 places ahead of our own by UEFA. And of course, they’re still in preseason. Bohs have every chance of taking something from this.

Bohs haven’t paid their TV license.

Reports of a pretty nasty incident involving Bohs fans that have left an 83-year-old woman in hospital with serious head injuries. Five arrests too apparantly http://www.thebohs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11000

    Nonsense.

It's common knowledge that only Rovers have a 'problem'.

Morons. If this report is accurate, I hope they are caught and punished properly.

Let's hope the woman pulls through.

Unfortunately it could end up having repercussions re: over-zealous policing of the game tonight. Not to mention the Salzburg response.

    Hopefully not.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,890 ✭✭✭SectionF

One assumes that the Austrian police are more professional than the Garda when it comes to dealing with crowds and resisting the urge to tar all with one brush.

They are already telling the press that most Bohs fans are ok. But if a RBS lynch mob transpires it would be hard to complain. I feel like lynching these idiots myself.

Want to add my own luck to the pile. Bohs are definately the best team in the country atm so heres hoping they can pull this off.

Just proves a couple of assholes can ruin it for everyone.

I hope the aul' dear makes a full recovery and those responsible are held accountable for their actions.

Back on topic in anyway, best of luck to Bohs tonight and let's hope they keep the tie alive for Dalyer.

Prediction: 1-1 (let's hope SuperKeeper has one of those games and that Oman is dropped).

Unfortunately that's the case. Now if were Longford Town, well then that's a completely different situation!

Really hope Bohs can do them over the two legs though

What a joke the foot.ie heads are, it's an unsubstantiated story according to them and mentioning it is punishable with a week's ban. It's on the ORF (the Austrian equivalent of RTE) Salzburg website ffs!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

Nah, the rabble have been set loose, seems you can only post if you havent read the article. Some of them on foot should be working for the herag

Just for the record, lest RTE decide that an Irish club in Europe miraculously has become worthy of mention...

    European battles draw a blank

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

Irish people trampling an old lady half to death is a fairly newsworthy event, imo.

    Not that it happened mind.

Those RTE bastards, making shít up.

Now that someone over at the AP has got off their arse and knocked up an english version article foot.ie have restored the discussion

Yeah, yeah... nice irony, of which we are in such short supply round here.

But what's your source for your definite statement that the club was denying it. Or are you making things up?

Sure they're banning people on foot.ie for mentioning it. Heads in the sand time.

If it involved Rovers, people would be perm-banned for not mentioning it.

    Excuse of a forum.

Herag/Metro and the like are going to go ballistic with this. Prepare to see much re-airing of LOI casuals 'footage' and tarring-with-same-brsuh activity.

Plenty of Bohs fans on their forum seem to think there's nothing wrong with stealing a bike.
I really hope these guys are caught
