Another unbelieveable display by Taylor again tonight, the man is a robot! It wouldn't surprise me if he does 2 nine darters in a game shortly the way he's playing!

All the talk of Taylor nine darters the whole time, when is the last time he actually hit a televised nine darter?? It's been a while

7th of June 2008 against Jamie Harvey, seems longer than that.

Amazing the records he's set since then, all the attempts, the 116 average and yet no nine darters.

They should stop talking up the nine darters after two 180's

Probably because Barney did one at the World Championships.

Lewis was terrible and bigger pain than he normally is especially in the last two legs

The thing is, a player only needs to hit a 180 at the start of a leg and the talk of a 9 darter begins... Doesn't really matter who the player is yet Sid pretty much orgasms at the sight of it - "POSSIBLE NIENE DATTER OON!!!!"

The other problem with the nine dart finish is that so many people are doing it on tour. No disrespect to Andy Smith, but if he does it i can nearly believe that i can do it and it certainly takes the gloss off of the achievement when so many are doing it on a regular basis.

Yeah, that just pretty much proves it...

well its still an elite list

interesting that larry butler hit one, he was one of the first winners of the blackpool matchplay, nice to see the older guys notching one up

John Macgowan in 2008 oldest man to hit a 9 darter in the PDC

It's a fairly impressive list, but much of the 9 darter talk is coming from Phil Taylor himself in the sky interviews after his matchs. He was at it again last night, that's just fuel for Syd.

Looking forward to the 2 semis tonight. Baxter v Jenkins will be a tight game, could possibly go to a tiebreaker, hard to call a winner. Most people will expect Taylor to beat King but King is a battler and if he's on top of his game he could make life hard for Taylor but i still expect Taylor to win 17-11 or 17-10.

The bull has started really well,i think it will be a taylor v jenkins final.

  • Registered Users Posts: 493 ✭✭mixed up

Brilliant match with king and taylor,i really hope king wins this.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,182 ✭✭✭dionsiseire

Taylor twice on the 9 darters, first time missing the T20

    second time missing the T19

    he's really pushing it now

Its going to be tough for king to break taylor's throw the way the power is throwing.

I think King has to try hold his throw and hope Taylor has a bad leg. It's a long shot but possible!

It looks like its game over now.

Sigh. Happy to see Jenks get to the final again...but I know I can't even dare to dream about the outcome.

Maybe in the era of Taylor, great players will be remembered for the amount of finals they reached before losing to Taylor, rather than the amount of titles won.

    Hmmm......

It'd be a nice way of thinking abut it anyway!

Gonna go for 18-8 Taylor tonight. Jenks tends to drop off against him in the longer format and Taylor will be looking to crucify.

If I was near a bookies, I'd also throw a fiver on us seeing him hit the first TV Final 9-darter after he gets some daylight.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 831 ✭✭✭Daffy501

Taylor is throwing pure class in this final and Jenkins doesnt look interested anymore :(

Its gonna be over real early so all thats left to say is Taylor to bust the 109.5 average and hit a 9 darter

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭dartbhoy

Disaster of a final entertainment wise! Taylor looked like a person just going through the motions, Jenkins never got a look in! Hard to see who'll beat Taylor in a major final he'll have to take a dip in form for someone to beat him, can't see any of the other players reaching the 109 and 110 averages that Taylor is doing on nearly a regular basis.

Taylor was greta but Jenkins never showed up. He is a much better thrower than that and if he had thrown the way he can it would have been much closer.

I have great respect for Taylor, the best player there has ever been but my gad are his games incredibly boring to watch!
