TV Clips won't show in PowerPoint

I've downloaded a few short clips from tv onto my DVD recorder for use in a PowerPoint presentation. I burned the clips onto a DVD & didn't expect any problem importing them into PowerPoint.

First sign of trouble was when the laptop didn't recognise the clips format.

Windows Media Player struggled to recognise the clips but eventually did and they play ok.

When I try to import them as media clips, PowerPoint can't see them. They must be an unusual format but I can't make out what it is. They show in their location as wmpdvd://F/1/1?contentdir=F:\video_ts

Anyone know how I can convert them so they will play in my PowerPoint Presentation?? Thanks.
