Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A lot of people have bought from eBay and little or no problems to report. You always run a risk of having to return the camera to the other side of the world should something go wrong with it and you need to effect a warranty repair. Factor in customs and import duty. Do a search on the forum and you'll find lots of detail. Its a fact of life now when importing so best to be prepared for it. You could be lucky but you don't want it to be sitting in a customs warehouse somewhere awaiting you to get your next pay cheque ;) Just take the normal online precautions - pay pal protected, insurance on shipping, check the history of the supplier and the comments (in particular the recent comments), etc.

The north became very popular of recent times when the currency was favourable - not sure what its like now. Jessops in newry was the place to be at the time IIRC.

Bricks and mortar down south - Gunns on wexford street appear to get the thumbs up around here. Won't be as cheap but apparently excellent service and hence worth the few extra bob.

Oooooppps - I forgot adverts.ie (how could I). For second hand gear here in ireland there probably no better.

I'm usually happy enough getting anything on ebay, from sellers with good feedback, wouldn't buy expensive stuff from outside the eu, because as has been said you can get hit with extra charges and can be more hassle if something goes wrong

argos still have the 450d at a low price I think http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5591143.htm
not sure how that compares to online etc

I've bought off Digital Rev on eBay a few times with no problems: http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/DigitalRev-Photography-Shop__W0QQ_armrsZ1

They have their own website now too: http://www.digitalrev.com

Have you thought about Amazon.co.uk? We got a camera off them a month ago with no problems and at a good price.
