Dealers being alerted of the cops

    Just wondering does anyone know what the phrase is that the kids on the block use to alert the dealers that the cops are coming. I have a feeling it could be five-oh but I'm not fully sure. Also what does the phrase stand for or where did it come from. Thanks

    They shout "Five-O" as in the cop show Hawaii Five-O.

    5-0 is an (oldish) american slang for cops

    Yeh its from the tv show Hawaii 5-0. Slang for police.

    I'm pretty damn sure it's po-po in the majority of the cases. I can't find the actual scene on youtube but here's an interview with David Simon and a script excerpt.

    Why cant they just say here come to guards. Saying that doesn't make them sound so F***ing ridiculous. Po-Po? Are you sure its not po po 'stutter' police? They may as well call them the LAPD.
