Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And of course Harry Ferguson's four wheel drive system in the Jensen FF, which is kind of relevant.

AP109 has 14bhp. You would wonder why they bothered with these machines. A few horses with a rope would be cheaper, no?

Steyr made cars back in the day.

At the time 14hp was a lot. Porsche are a lovely vintage tracter if restored correctly, I often go to vintage tractor events and have seen a few of them. They are rare though and very expensive to buy/restore

Ford are another. Fiat also. It's been a while since Fiat had a sports car as such, but they have had some legends in the past. Their tractors are excellent too.

And Renault tractors, Renault Sport Spider, GTA and of course Alpines.

Mercedes Benz. I knew they built the Trac (the big green one) and also the Unimog (could be argued that this is not a 'true' tractor), but after a quick Google, it appears that Benz built the worlds first production diesel tractor in 1922

JCB. They build tractors and this: jcb-dieselmax-(resized-450).jpg

Lamborgini do not build tractors. They have not done for many many years. Same-Deutz Fahr just have a licence to use the name since the time lambo went to the wall. Lamborgini tractors are also quite rubbish.

William Morris AKA Lord Nuffield built sports cars (Morris Garages!) and tractors bearing both his names.

    Nuffield:

Both were very common in Ireland.

Fiat is a majority shareholder in both CNH, Ferrari and Maserati.

Leyland tractors were essentially Nuffields from the British Leyland era.

the raced the 850 in the BTTC in the early 1990's

Lambo tractors are actually very good. Seeing as they're practically the same as Same tractors, which are also good. Tractors are just gone the way cars are going - platform, engine and transmission sharing across makes. They're just a step farther down that road than cars.
And I know about the Fiat relationship with Ferrari etc, but no point considering a Ferrari as a Fiat sports car. That'd be like calling a Lambo a VW...

On another note, Toyota also making sewing machines, and Mitsubishi make electrical appliances.

Mitsubishi Electric is very much a separate business from Mitsubishi Motors these days, although I think they may be a bit closer now since DaimlerChrysler sold their share in the latter. The conglomerate also includes Mitsubishi Bank, Mitsubishi Atomic Industry, and many others (Mitsubishi Pencil Co. is not related).

Toyota and Daihatsu started in the textiles industry, and Honda were making bikes long before cars

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Im sure that Daewoo make tractors although i may be wrong, but I cant remember any sports cars by them, unless they are selling the Pontiac Solstice as a Daewoo..?

And seeing that so many builders have gone bust, it wont be long until Toyota start importing their houses :-)
