I have a few that spring to mind...

I grew up listening to my dad playing Jim Reeves and so the track 'Welcome to my World' (think that's what it's called!) always makes me smile. His voice is like somebody giving you a huge cuddle :)

Pink floyd, 'Dark side of the Moon', the whole album (sorry, I know I'm cheating now :D)

The christians 'Words', again a voice like melted chocolate....

and finally Elbow 'One day like ths' just makes me melt and for some reason the video of the guy dancing with his sign really gets to me...

    Nine Inch Nails - Hurt.

    For a variety of reasons.

There's a huge amount of songs that mean a lot to me, stuff from just general growing up, but this stands out because of its own meaning and then what it means to me.

Noah and the Whale, "Five years time" ... it's me and my fiance's "engagement holiday" song, it makes me so happy every time I hear it!

Also Bryan Adams "I will always be right there" is "our song".

When I'm in a bad mood, I always play Ginastera's "Danza de la Moza Donosa" ("Dance of the Sad Girl) on the piano ... most therapeutic piece I've ever played!!! You need to play it all the way through to get the full effect. Honestly though? I play it way better than yer wan in the clip! She can't ever have been sad in her life.

Sexytime ... don't ask me why, but Snow Patrol's "Set the Fire to the Third Bar".

Sinding's "Rustle of Spring" and MCR's "Welcome to the Black Parade" are two other random ones I never get bored of.

And I love U2's version of "Everlasting love" coz it reminds me of being a teenager, as do most Frames songs.

If you asked me tomorrow, my answers would be totally different!

    I like moozak :)

Just a quick question ladies and gentlemen? What is the song that sticks most in your head....the kind of song you hear if you're listening to the radio or your MP3 player and then it brings back a life changing moment of your life? Something that you knew would stick with you for a long long time. Mine, has to be...Damien Rice and the Blowers daughter....tell all?

And by the way, I frickin love "The Blowers Daughter", best song ever, apart from the last line :(

all of declan o'rourkes since kyabram album, but mainly "no place to hide". Its the kind of album that you have to listen to in whole, and it leaves you with a very distint feeling. Every song on it can be related back to a certain thing in my life.
i met declan once, hes incredibly sweet and kind of shy, but is absolutley a pure genius at reaching people in a certain way.

I know its weird but I've always associated a song with pivitol times in my life, however one that stands out is:

The Killers - All These Things That I've Done. Reminds me of a short period in my life which had dizzying heights, and ultimate lows. It was special and a rollercoaster few months. Ones I will never forget.

*le sigh*, I'm very sentimental today, and this song just brings it all back... Extremely bittersweet. The chorus just kills me.

This song brings back some great memories for me.
Me and a few mates used to drive from castlebar to old head on a saturday night now and again.
We'd park up the car, open the boot, sit down on the beach, have a few joints and let the "Collection" album blare away.
    Good times.

This song makes me cry every time I hear it. When one of my best friends passed away last year we made a video tribute to him as were a film class. I tried to write down my feelings toward him but I just couldn't and then I remembered this song and it was perfect. Since then I always associate it with him.

The album this song is one which I discovered the day my friend passed away. I was sitting in my house alone with no one to talk to at the time and I picked the CD out and put it on. I sat in silence and listened to it over and over again over the next week.

    In my Life; The Beatles

    Always liked it.

Now that I'm hurtling into middle-age, it has more resonance with me.

To think that John Lennon wrote it when he was 24!!!

    Bloody genius!

Like most Beatles songs, come to think of it...

Nirvana's cover of the Meat Puppets ''Lake of Fire'', just resonated with me for some reason. I don't know why.

It had been released for several years before I heard it, and it was one of those times where you sit up and take notice of whats going in your ears.

...not a life changing song but it's a real song.

By Eightees Matchbox B-Line Disaster? Kinda reminds me of some bad times of my life actually. Good tune though!

If I had to choose it would either be Getting Better by The Beatles or more recently, Some Riot by Elbow. The latter showed me how badly I was living my life. The former thought me things don't have to remain static and people can change no matter how bad things might seem.

Very personal songs both and two epic albums!
